About Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology

An Autonomous Institution under Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to University of Delhi, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology is a seat of higher technical education in India. It was established in the year 1983 as Delhi Institute of Technology with the objective of meeting the growing demands of manpower in the emerging fields of engineering and technology with a close social and industrial interface. Over a period of time, the institute has carved a niche for itself, both nationally and internationally, for excellence in technical education and research.

The institute has grown leaps and bounds since its inception, both in size and in the scope of its activities. The overall academic environment in the institution is highly conducive for achieving excellence in education and research. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top engineering colleges in India and has featured prominently in various national level surveys conducted by reputed professional and trade magazines.

Prof. Yogesh Singh has been the Vice-Chancellor of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda from July 2011 to July 2014. He was also reappointed as Vice-Chancellor for the second term of three years. The engagement as Vice Chancellor of one of the leading residential Universities in the country with more than 35000 Students, 1200 Teachers and 1500 non-teaching staff, brought immense satisfaction, respect and honour.

He is a member of the General Council of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) since March, 2012. He is also an independent Director of Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Government of Gujarat Undertakings) since May, 2013 and March, 2015 respectively. Prof. Singh has also worked as Chairman, Central Regional Committee, All India Council for Technical Education, Bhopal (covering states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Gujarat) from December 2011 to May 2014. He has served as Dean, University School of Information Technology, University School of Engineering & Technology (2001-2006), Controller of Examinations (2006-2011), Director Student's Welfare (2006-2009), University Proctor (2001-2006) at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He has also been the member of various Search Committees for the appointment of Vice-Chancellors.

Many students succeed in getting their research papers published in reputed international journals every year. NSIT has also signed MoUs with over a dozen international universities & organizations.

An amalgamation of its efforts to maintain this benchmark recently helped NSIT receive a rank of 6th in the latest DataQuest-CMR T-School survey of 2015. The survey ranked the Top 25 Government T-Schools of India across various categories and calculated a composite score out of 100 for each institute. The Best Institute Award (The BhartiyaVidyaBhawan National Award) was conferred to NSIT by Indian Society for Technical Association (ISTE), 2002 for having the best overall performance in the field of technical education.

NSIT was also declared the 'Capital Pride' by Government of Delhi through a half page advertisement in all national newspapers in 2003. Additionally, it has been enlisted in the top 100 engineering institutions all over the world by NARIC survey, UK.
