Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) at Sarala Birla University 2020

The student must have cleared the 10 + 2 (class 12th) examinations of all subjects and must have Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. Apart from these two subjects, the student must also have a subject from among Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and a Technical Vocational subject. The aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in class 12th must not be less than 45 per cent if he/ she is from the general or open category. For the candidates who come from the reserved categories, a minimum aggregate percentage of 40 per cent is required. Students appearing in class 12th final exams can also apply.

Selection Process of B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) at Sarala Birla University 2020

The selection process of B.Tech at Sarala Birla University is done strictly on the basis of merit and performance of candidates in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The rank secured by the student in JEE Main taken in the same year and the marks obtained by him/ her in class 12th board exams are considered for allotting a seat to him/ her.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) Lateral Entry at Sarala Birla University 2020

The eligibility criteria to get admission in B.Tech via lateral entry at Sarala Birla University is different from that of B.Tech. The candidate must have passed the Diploma examination with a minimum of 45 per cent marks (40 per cent if the candidate belongs to any reserved category). The Diploma must be done in an appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology.

The candidate must have a degree of B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) from a recognised university that is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with a minimum of 45 per cent marks (40 per cent if the candidate is from a reserved category). The student must also have cleared 10 + 2 (class 12th) examinations with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

OR

Provided that the student has done B.Sc., he/ she must have cleared the subjects of Engineering Drawing/ Engineering Graphics and Engineering Mechanics of the Engineering Programme of the first year along with the subjects of the second year.

OR

Provided that the student belongs to the B.Sc. stream, he/ she will be considered only after the supernumerary seats in this category are filled with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
