Bay of Plenty Polytechnic - BPP - BPP

The Bay of Plenty region reached a significant milestone in its tertiary education history on 1 May 2016 when Bay of Plenty Polytechnic merged with Waiariki Institute of Technology to become the fourth largest ITP in New Zealand.  Waiariki Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is home to almost 14,000 students, more than 1,000 staff and offers more than 240 programmes over 68 delivery sites. Over the coming years we will build on the successes and histories of our legacy institutions, to deliver our students and our region the educational and employment outcomes they need. They are committed to working with our businesses, community, industries and iwi partners, to ensure our new institution meets their needs, and most importantly the needs of their students.With more resources, increased scope, and size our students will have better access to study and a wider choice of programmes. Together we can continue to grow our region and make it the best place in the country to work, live, learn and play.

  • New Zealand's Bay of Plenty Polytechnic has two campuses in Tauranga, and a specialised road transport training facility. All feature excellent facilities with everything you need to get the full experience from your time with us. 
  • Bay of planty main campus and the Polytechnic’s administrative hub is located on the southern side of the city, set in 24 hectares of trees and gardens providing an energising and fun place to study for students of all ages. 
  • Windermere Campus features modern lecture theaters complete with the latest video conferencing and presentation technologies, new state-of-the-art trades workshops built to emulate industry, as well as refurbished graphic design computer labs.
  • It also houses purpose-built laboratories, fashion and art studios, a restaurant, cafés, beauty salon, a radio station and music recording suite, as well as Te Pare a Ruahine, our fantastic aquatic centre and gym.
