Separate hostels available for Boys and Girls inside the campus, with well furnished and spacious rooms. The hostels have excellent water facility, modern kitchen and dining. The students are provided with the choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian food. The rooms are furnished with individual cots, tables, chairs, and bureau. Importance is given in maintaining discipline and security of the students. The resident warden of each hostel takes care to see that all the needs of the students are met and a homely atmosphere with a sense of security is created. Immediate medical care is given to hostel students on requirement.

Fine Arts Club

Fine arts club of Akshaya provides an opportunity to the students to let their imagination run wild and provides them with the sight to see things in a different way. Students learn from one another and share their prowess in different aspects of art.

The Fine Arts Club caters to the needs of those students who have an aptitude for music or other fine arts. Students are encouraged to participate in inter collegiate and other competition through fine arts.

OBJECTIVE
Develop and demonstrate skills in critical and analytical thinking through effective speaking, writing and performing on topics in the fine arts.
Create, perform and experience work in a variety of art forms with a high level of comprehension and appreciation.
To bring the latent talents of the students to limelight.

NSS

National Service Scheme

The NSS Unit of the college steadfastly works towards the betterment of the society. We have a bunch of more than hundred vibrant young volunteers who ultimately spread the air of humanity and service. We give a space for the volunteers to work with the needy and poor and to take care of their basic needs. Akshaya has rendered its service through multiple awareness programs and social service programs in and around the city.

NSS Unit and Programme Officer

The NSS Unit of the institution consists of 100 vibrant student volunteers and is led by Mr. T.Ayyappan, NSS Programme Officer.

NSS Student Volunteers

Any student enrolled as an NSS Volunteer should put in at least 240 hours (i.e. 120 hours per year) of useful social work in a continuous period for two years as per NSS Manual.A work diary is to be maintained by each NSS Volunteer, which will help him/her in the assessment of his/her performance.

Science Club

Science is everywhere in today world. It is part of our daily lives. Advances in Technology and Science are transforming our world at an incredible pace, and our students future will surely be filled with leaps in technology we can only imagine. Being “Science Literate will no longer be just an advantage but an absolute necessity. We can’t escape from the significance of Science in our world.

The department of Science and Humanities has inaugurated the Science Club in the year 2014-15. The club comprises of both Physics and Chemistry activities. The students are motivated by conducting Quiz, Project Demonstration, Paper Presentation, Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions etc., to enhance their knowledge in Science.The modern world would not be modern at all without the understandings of technology enabled by science and the club serves a root platform to explore their ideas.

Robotics club

The Robotics Club’s mission is to increase enthusiasm and knowledge towards robotics by providing a hands-on and multi-disciplinary collaborative experience in designing, building, and robots programming. Club includes the collection of hardware, software and others that are interested in the exciting world of robotics.

Objectives

• To understand basic principles of Robotics and its control.
• To explore basic electronic components with control programming skills in robotics.
• To promote robotic control and literacy of Technology Education in school and college functions

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC)

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre of Akshaya College of Engineering and Technology aims to bring together the young buds entrepreneurial passions to cover in a common platform. We have adopted a systematic approach to develop first generation entrepreneurs through curriculum, awareness, motivation programmes, business camps and Industry interaction on a regular basis. We bring together aspiring entrepreneurs and support them by providing necessary resources such as seed funding, mentoring, consultancy and networking. Ultimately we make them job providers rather than job seekers.

OBJECTIVES

• To create entrepreneurial culture in the institution and to promote the objectives of NSTEDB (National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board), including programs related to women and weaker sections of the society.
• To foster better linkages between the institution, Industries and R&D Institutions engaged in promoting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) including NGOs and other voluntary Organizations.
