Students Activities & Clubs
NCC imparts two types of basic training, i.e. institutional and camp training. The institutional training is imparted round the year in the college while the camp training covers basic military training in Army and Air Force. This training inculcates in the youth the values of discipline & dutifulness. It covers subjects like drill, weapon training, civil defense, community development, first aid, gliding, power flying, sailing etc.
The camp training constitutes the most vital part of the NCC training. All India camps such as National Integration, Vayu Sainik, Army Attachment,Republic Day & Independence Day are organized in which cadets from all parts of country contribute towards promotion of National Integration. They also help in bridging the cultural religious and language barrier and provide an opportunity to forge bonds of national brotherhood.
A cadet may stay for 2 years in Junior division or junior wing and for 3 years in senior division/ senior wing. Annual training camps are conducted by every battalion to train the cadets in various subjects of military training to enable the cadet to get eligibility for appearing B/C examinations. More than 75 cadets have attended various camps.
Inter group competitions are conducted to exhibit the best talent by all the groups of NCC in the state. 14 Cadets from this college were selected. These competitions form the basis for primary selection of cadets to all state level & national level camps. A number of students have been selected from this college.
The NCC day camp is celebrated all over the country on last Sunday of November. The best cadets drawn from NCC across the state themselves in the presence of the state chief minister or home minister who takes salute and inspect the parade.
Our college NCC company has undertaken some social service activities like organizing anti-tobacco rally in association with Lions Club of Hyderabad, World peace day celebrations, Blood donation camps, organized along with Red Cross Society of A.P. & Pulse- polio immunization program in association with State Government.
The college has two NCC units which are housed in a separate room setup with required material worth Rs. One lakh. Daily and weekly camps and State / National selections of NCC are conducted in the college campus.The College provides infrastructural support to conduct B and C certificate exams. The Army and Navy Officers are invited to give the orientation, significance and prospects of NCC.
The college has two units of NSS with 100 students each. A separate room is provided for NSS units with equipment worth Rs.1.5 lakh. Various socially relevant services are rendered by NSS students of the college like Blood Donation camps, counter checking of Pulse Polio drive, Adult Education, Anti Pollution drives. Programmes on the need for ‘Elimination of Child labour and ‘No use of plastic bags’ are organized regularly to create social awareness. A village in Medchal was adopted by the college NSS units where ‘World Senior Citizen Day’, ‘Back to School’ drive to decrease the dropout rate, and ‘Save the Girl Child’ day were observed.
All the NSS volunteers participated in LEPRA WALK, at People’s Plaza on 29th January 2012. NSS volunteers participated in “Youth Festival Camp” conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad
