History, Affiliations & Rankings 

California Baptist University (CBU) is one of the top private, Christian universities in Riverside, Southern California. Founded in 1950 by the California Southern Baptist Convention, the new college enrolled 120 students during its first year. CBU has more than 10 accreditations, where most of the engineering departments have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. CBU is ranked #43 in Regional Universities West (tie) by the U.S. News & World Report 2020. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Course

The suburban campus has a size of its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 160 acres. The main campus comprises more than 30 buildings featuring the 94,800 sq. ft. Eugene and Billie Yeager Center. There are a total of 12 schools in the university, providing majors in the field of Health Science, Architecture, Visual Art, Design, Business, and Engineering, etc. The beautiful campus of CBU is situated near Riverside's historic Magnolia Avenue district. 

The university offers more than 80 majors, with more than 150 major concentrations, and more than 50 minors at the undergraduate level. And at the graduate level, it is offering more than 30 masters and five doctoral programs. 

Accomplishments & Alumni 

CBU actively participates in most of the sports. It is a joint member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level. In total it offers 18 sports, 9 for women and 9 for men, where basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, and diving are some of the sports offered for both men and women. 

Notable alumni include professional baseball player Trevor Scott Oaks, and Dominican Republic beach volleyball player Yudelka Bonilla. 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

CBU is home to more than 11,000 students studying degrees at the associate, bachelor's, masters, and doctoral levels. The student-faculty rate at the university is14:1. About 50 % of classes have fewer than 20 students. The gender ratio is positive with 38% men and 62% women. Roughly 90% of the students attending the university come from within California. Approximately 260 international students representing at least 30 countries also study at CBU. The employment rate for university students is very high. 

Top organizations where the alumni work includes Kaiser Permanente, County of Riverside, Riverside University Health System, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Starbucks, and Lancer Media Group.
