Admission to the College of Fisheries Agartala is based on entrance tests and eligibility criteria. Admission to UG and PG courses is based on the student's performance in the state-wise common entrance tests and qualifying examinations. Some seats are also filled up on the basis of the All India Entrance Test (AIET) conducted by ICAR.

College of Fisheries Agartala offers a four-year B.F.Sc programme. Students seeking College of Fisheries Agartala admissions to B.F.Sc must have passed Class 12 with PCB/ PCMB along with English as a compulsory subject. They need to secure a minimum of 50% marks in Class 12. They also need to take the Common Entrance Exam conducted by ICAR or the state authorities.
