A library is regarded as a treasure house of knowledge for an institute, as such, it should be in proper form and well maintained from all corners. In case of an engineering institute, especially when the institute is of GIMT status (the first AICTE approved private engineering institute) the library must be well maintained and should provide all the best services of a library. The Central workshop measuring 5000 sq.ft has been equipped to provide all the facilities for the basic training of the Engineering students. The facilities of the workshop may also be utilized for making models etc. for students' projects and minor repair works. The Computing facility of the institute occupies a floor space of more than 300 sq. m. and houses around 600 computers loaded with Windows XP / Vista / 7 & Linux operating systems with an ability to work on different platforms. All the computers are based on latest Intel(R)/AMD(R) Dual Core Technology with connected to LAN through a central server. Internet facility with 8 Mbps leased internet connection is available to 75% of the computers. Also 20 numbers of 512 Kbps internet connections are available under NME-ICT project (a project of MHRD). Students at GIMT are encouraged, from the very beginning, to use the computer independently in order to gain sufficient hands on practice. In addition to this, several Laboratories have large numbers computers dedicated to perform specified tasks in laboratory experiments.
