The JIS College of Engineering, Nadia campus is considerably an art of the infrastructure that not only attracts the aspiring candidates but also the passers-by. With the lush green environment and prolific atmosphere, the institution has provided all the facilities that a student would require for gaining knowledge and skills. The campus of JIS College of Engineering, Nadia spreads across 17.5 acres of land covering 387160.36 Sq. Ft. of land as build up area. This area covers academic as well as administrative blocks designed to cater to the needs of the students as well as the staff and faculty members of the institution.

The JIS College of Engineering, Nadia academic block consists of more than 100 classrooms of different types and categories. These comprise the smart class rooms, tutorial rooms and general class rooms. With a motive to train students in the best possible way, the institution has equipped these class rooms in a way that would only benefit the students to grasp more and more knowledge taught within the rooms of the academic blocks of JIS College of Engineering, Nadia. Enriched with comfortable sitting arrangements, not only the classrooms but other academic units comprising of the library also ease the stress of the students.

The library is one such place that helps students to research well about their subject-matter in the best possible way. With more than a thousand books, reference materials, journals and periodicals, the library has backed the interest of students and researchers aiming to gain more and more knowledge. Apart from the library, other points of attraction include two auditoriums, two conference rooms and laboratories. There are a total of 57 JIS College of Engineering, Nadia laboratories with 20 advanced laboratories with state of art research facilities. These labs help students to learn experiments in an easy and simple way.

The computer labs consisting of 1205 computer systems has served to be an advantage for the students of the institution. JIS College of Engineering, Nadia campus also focuses on easing the stress of the students by providing them sports ground and canteen area along with clubs and gym centre. The institution also homes students by providing them with the hostel facility. There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. One hostel for boys and two for girls have been made available in the campus. The hostel is filled with all the facilities that students would require for a better stay experience.

The 24*7 power backup facility is also available in the JIS College of Engineering, Nadia campus. The amenities also include medical and security facilities available within the college campus for the students. Students will have to follow certain rules and regulations in order to avail the best out of the available comforts for the overall development of the students. NCC Club -

JIS College Of Engineering is the First Private Engineering College in West Bengal, which got the Permission to Run the Senior Division NCC Course from 49 Bengal Battalion NCC. We have successfully started the NCC Course from 2013. The aim of the Course to serve the nation and as well as to prepare the student for NCC certification examination which will add a new wings to their Career and life. The Following student are Enrolled for the NCC Course in the year of 2013

Fashion Club -

Technnovation 2014 an engineering model competition organised by Engineering and Modelling club, JISCE (Autonomous) Kalyani on 12.09.2014. Students from various engineering discipline took part in the events Robo track and Tech tricks. Participating members in a group was limited by maximum five. Robo track arena was constructed by the team members led by Abokash, 3rd year Electrical Engineering and Aurgha, 3rd year Computer Science and Engineering. 62 participants in 14 groups attended and performed. This was a time management event. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position completed their successful run in 20.34, 26.64 and 30.13 seconds respectively. Time calculation was carried out by the members under Asutosh, and Anasua, 3rd year Electrical Engineering. 16 groups with total 57 participants took part in Tech tricks. Professor (Dr.) Partha Pratim Sarkar, DETS, University of Kalyani invited as a chief guest and judge of the event. Honourable Principal of JISCE Dr. Urmybrata Bandopadhyay handed over him an honorary memento. Each group of Tech tricks explained their model to Dr. Sarkar which took around one and half hour before he declared his opinion. Another event Tech quiz was performed in a parallel session where 35 students performed individually. Niladrit, Sourav, 3rd year Electronics and Communication Engineering and Ranajay, 3rd year Electrical Engineering led the event with other members.


Science Club -

Science Exhibition projects are normally intended to demonstrate scientific concepts on a small scale. It is generally a competition where contestants present their science project results in the form of a report, display board, and models that they have created. Science exhibition allow students to compete in science and/or technology activit ies. It also provides a mechanism for students with intense interest in the sciences to be paired with mentors. With this view SCIZONE, the Science Club has organized a great successful event “SCIVISION-A Science Exhibition” on 2nd May 2014 at the JIS College campus. It was one of its kinds, the first to be held, ever in this college.


Photography Club -

Photography and trekking club was organasied one seminar on camping nature study trekking climbing on 29th October 2014. The reputed organisation “Summiters” was invited to present this seminar. Four experts shared their experience about rock climbing and camping with beautiful videos and photographs. They encouraged students to join the nature camp. They motivated students to show their excellence in trekking. More than 85 students were registered for this seminar. After completion of this workshop respected Director Sir felicitated the Experts by giving one memento.


Sustainability Club -

As a part of Social Activities students of community connect club of our college have made a survey to few social organizations of Nadia district. Among those there was a Girls Child Orphanage Home namely “Bhagirathi Shilpasram”, was founded in the year 1942, is a ‘HOME’ with a difference - an abode of love and care for orphans. A Charitable Institution Bhagirathi Shilpasram was founded by the Late Lt.Col.Dwijendra Nath Bhattacharya, for the famine affected children of the year 1942-43, on a plot of land on the banks of the river Bhagirathi at a village near Simurali Railway Station in Nadia District of West Bengal. The Education Department of the then State Govt. of West Bengal had started to send children to Bhagirathi Shilpasram since 1944. Subsequently the Dept. of Social Welfare also started sending inmates to the Ashram. Bhagirathi Shilpasram has rehabilitated many girls by getting them married to have a family and social life of their own. During the past70 years Bhagirathi Shilpasram rehabilitated over a thousand of its inmates in this way. After the primary survey our College Authorities has agreed to distribute Dress for the girls aged between 6yrs to 12yrs and refreshments for all residential of Bhagirathi Shilpasram. We have distributed dress to 120 girl Childs at the home and arranged food refreshments for 250 residential of that home. Our honorable Director Dr. A. Guha, Deputy Director Mr. U. S. Mukherjee and Mrs. Sila S. Ghosh, GM – Corporate Relations distributed the dresses and food packets to the girls and had a wonderful time with them and the officials of the “Bhagirathi Shilpashram”.


Computer Hardware and Software Club -

The aim of this ACM student chapter is to acquire or refer potential resources for assisting learner?s deliverables. Identifying and classifying research topics to its last publication state is the crucial factor to design or solve recent challenges or to contribute into the existing scientific literature. Acquire, and Share recent breakthroughs among learners are the prime objective of the JIS ACM Student Chapter. The technology gap at the pre-final year stage of learners always deviate them from the focus of problem solving. A framework consists of a hands-on seed topics, plug and play tools, available standard dictionaries or data set is the other side of guidance.

Event Organized

On 8th August, 2014 JIS ACM Student Chapter and Computer Society Club organized an invited talk of Prof. Chandrashekhar Sahasrabudhe, Chief Operating Officier, ACM India on Skilling for New Technology Trends for the beneficiary of the students and as well as for the faculty members. Prof. Sahasrabudhe highlighted the benefit of the ACM membership for both the students and faculty members. Total 230 number of students and 22 number of faculty members from different departments were present in that session. This invited talk was highly beneficiary for the audience.


Music Club -

Report of musiQ A musical quiz competition

On 23rd August Music Club ,JISCE organized an Interdepartmental Musical quiz Competition at B.C.Roy Auditorium at 11 pm,Saturday. The program started with inauguration by Dr.Urmibrata Bandopadhyay, Principal, JISCE,kalyani. There was a feliticitation to our honorable principal sir, experts from outside Rahul Singh and quiz master Biswarup Bhattacharjee. Followed by Principal sir’lecture.Then the quiz started total 30 numbers of participants took part,10 number of Departments and 3 members from each department.The Quiz program had 5 rounds.In between rounds band of JISCE performed wonderful performaneces.The lead was by Mrinal Chhetri and Priyanka,member of Music Club. Whole program was conducted by Aroma Mukherjee, member Vice- President of Club. Almost 40 spectators enjoyed the show.Finally the result was declared at about 3 pm.First position went to CMS, 2nd position went to department of IT and 3rd position went to department of CSE.

An interdepartmental drama

On 5th November, 2014 Music Club, JISCE organized an Interdepartmental Drama Competition at B.C.Roy Auditorium 2.30 pm onwards. The program started with inauguration program. There was a felicitation to our honorable expert from outside Mrs.Sujita Banerjee . Then contest started total 36 numbers of participants took part,6 number of Departments took part in it. It is an interdepartmental one act drama competition for students. From each department there was one team. Each team had 6 students, they were from different year (1st to 4th year) but strictly represented their own branch. Duration for performance: Strictly restricted to 15 mins. , Language: English/Hindi/Bengali, Topic: No specification. Any statement /dialogue/conversation during performance that can hurt human sentiments, religion, and cast and are politically biased was strictly prohibited during performance. Whole program was conducted by Aroma Mukherjee, member Vice-President of Club. Almost 100 spectators enjoyed the show. Finally the result was declared at about 4.30 pm.First position went to ECE, 2nd position went to department of BME and 3rd position went to department of CSE.Best performer trophy went to Madhura Sur (BME),Ranver Sen(CSE),Ipshita Bhattacharya(ECE)
