Students Activities & Clubs

Fine Art Club

The College Fine Arts Club conducts a 4-day intercollegiate cultural festival “SANSKRITI” every year, which is at par with any other in the State. It serves as a real-life project in management of men, materials and time. The students of this College participate in this project with effervescent enthusiasm.

Literary and debating club

The club has been very active since its inception. The club aims at developing the oratory and communication skills of the student. The club conducts debates and discussions and resource persons are employed to give training in public speach.

ENCON Club

ENCON Club is purely a voluntary non-profit group activity of students aimed at practicing energy conservation and environment protection. This gives a platform for the members to acquire, process and share knowledge on the subject of energy conservation. Kochi Refinery started ENCON clubs in the year 2002 with the ambitious aim of associating with the younger generation in protecting and preserving the environment. The main objective of MACE ENCON Club is to drive home the message of energy conservation and environment protection in the minds of students by planning and organizing regular activities. Talks, Seminars, Workshops, Exhibitions and other awareness programmes are undertaken by the club every year to spread the message of energy conservation and environment protection. This way, we wish to create a strong network of environment conscious people who would pass on the tradition to next generation.

Bhoomitra Sena Club

Environmental education has become an inevitable tool in creating awareness on imperatives of environmental sustainability. Bhoomitra Sena Club, an idea conceived by Directorate of Environment & Climate Change under Department of Environment and Climate Change serves this purpose. Agencies like Kerala State Pollution Control Board, Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Kerala Suchitwa Mission extend support to this programme. The Bhoomithra Sena club of MACE is aimed at encouraging college students to appreciate the environment and to react positively to environmental issues. The club organizes Seminars, Debates, Lectures , Field visits and talks on environmental issues. It also arranges visits to Wildlife Parks, environmentally degrading areas etc. Other activities include cleaning and maintaining the polluted or environmentally degraded sites, planting and maintaining trees in the campus.

Audio Visual and Film Club

The club regularly conducts video shows on advancements in engineering and technology. The club assists in the production of video documentaries, conducting cultural programmes etc. It imparts training for staff and students on various latest audiovisual equipments. The club actively involves in the maintenance of various audiovisual equipments in the campus.

Music club

Music is the ‘universal language’ of world. We are privileged to have a music integrated campus. The activities of the college start with a prayer song by the members of the music club. The selection to the music club is through an audition process in the first year. The club aims to explore the arena of music and strengthen the artistic talents of students. It helps the students to retain their own individual love of music and also enrich their own lives and lives of others. The club members meet on a regular basis for rehearsals and actively participate in various inter collegiate/university festivals and won prizes. All interested students can participate in the regular meetings.

MACE Dance club

MACE Dance club (MADc) is the place where the dancing talents of this college unite. MADc indulge in various cultural and social activities every year and has received awards and accolades from various organizations for the effort the club have taken. Auditions to the club are done every year to find out the fresh talents who are interested to be a part of the club. MAD-C was the first college club in Kerala to conduct a flash mob which was held as a promotional event for the tech fest of MACE – TAKSHAK. As a part of propagating social awareness, MADc performed an anti drug campaign at Marine Drive. This campaign included a dance performance which depicted the dark side of drugs. At present we have two professionally trained teams both in theme and non- theme based dance styles, who have won prizes in various dance events across the state.

MACE Firefox Club

MACE Firefox Club is a key grouping of Firefox Student Ambassadors at MACE which function as Mozilla’s liaison at the institution.The MACE Firefox Club is under the Mozilla Kerala community and is affiliated as an official Firefox Club under Mozilla foundation. The club’s intention is to teach web literacy, which encompasses the mechanics, culture and citizenship of the web. It is dedicated to empowering others so they have agency on the web as creators and future leaders. The club has been an integral part of Mozilla’s key mission of the open web.The membership is open to any student in MACE.

Quiz Club

MACE has a strong quizzing culture and the Quiz club is one of the most popular clubs of the college. The aim of the club is to inculcate among students a fondness for general knowledge and enhance their skills in academic, analytical abilities, quantitative reasoning, etc. and motivate them to bring themselves up to date with the current affairs of national and international importance. Quiz programs are conducted at regular intervals during each academic year and selected students are prepared for inter-collegiate and state level competitions.

Horticulture Club

The club is involved in planting and maintaining the trees, flowering plants such as roses, eugenia, bougainvillea, indoor plants adenium, golden cypress etc. which gives great beauty to our college campus. The fruit trees include Rambutan, Mangosteen, Mango trees, Guava, Supota, Avocado, Passion fruit, Jack fruit etc. The grass lawn in the campus gives a scenic beauty to our campus. The greenery made up by the trees and plants of the campus maintains a cool atmosphere in the campus especially during summer.
