Students Activities & Clubs
The club brings together students interested in photo-talks, photography workshops, covering college events, participating in Stare-a photo exhibition, Layers-photoshop competition, and Pixels This! – story-based photography competition. The recent phototalks featured R. Dinesh, Ritesh M. Nanda and Ganesh Hegde. The present membership is 45 and is open to students who are creative and have basic idea of photography. The two stage selection process includes submitting images based on given themes and photoshoot at a tourist place in Bangalore.
The club brings together students interested in classical and contemporary dances. The present membership is 21 and is open to students who clear two rounds of auditions conducted yearly. The club has won prizes at IIT Kharagpur – Spring Fest `16, IIT Bombay – Mood Indigo, BMC fest – Cobalt skies `15, New horizon fest – Sargam `15, Mount Carmel College fest – Cul-ah `16, Jain College , Jayanagar fest – Pulse `16 and RVCE fest – 8th Mile `16.
The club brings together students interested in participating in inter-college competitions at festivals like AtmaTrisha, Channel V-India Fest and at IIT-Kharagpur. The present membership is 18 and is open to students present in college for 2 or more years who clear the auditions held during the odd semesters.
The dramatics Club brings together students interested in stage play, street play and mime. The Club conducted street plays at various college festivals. The present membership is 40 and is open to all students subject to performance in the auditions.
SAARANG, the fusion Band of PES University which started in 2012 by a set of enthusiastic and talented artists. Starting with just five members presently there are 23 members in the band including vocalists and instrumentalists with different musical backgrounds. The group includes a blend of different genres of music which include Hindustani classical music, Carnatic classical music, Western music and even Bollywood music.The band bagged first prize in western acoustics competition (all three group, duet and solo) held at ‘Nirvaan’, the cultural fest of St. Joesph autonomous college, Bangalore on 12th January 2017, Second prize in eastern music band competition held at ‘Cul-Ah’, the cultural fest of Mount Carmel College, Bangalore in 2016. The band performed at a reality show organized by Suvarnachannel ,Vishveshvaraya Technological University cultural fest in 2012 and 2014, Christ University fest in 2015 andM.S.Ramaiah College of engineering fest in 2015.
