Punjabi University Campus

Punjabi University was established on April 30, 1962. Originally conceived and started as a unitary multi-faculty teaching and research university and primarily meant for the development and enrichment of Punjabi language and culture, but alive to the social and educational requirements of the state, it grew into an affiliating one in 1969. It has since developed in significant dimensions and acquired a distinctive character among the centres of education and research in the country. The university campus is situated on the Patiala Chandigarh road, at a distance of 7 km from the main city. Sprawling across 316 acres, the campus is away from the din and noise of the city markets and roads. It presents a splendid sight of the complex of beautiful buildings which include:

In order to get admission to the MPharm in Pharmaceutics or any other MPharm specialisation to the university, you must have completed your BPharm degree from a recognised university or institution. You must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in the same. While this is the basic requirement for Punjabi University admission to MPharm, the final selection is based on the scores of the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). The duration of the course is 2 years and the total number of seats available is 37.

Punjabi University, located in Patiala, offers a Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) course of four years duration. The programme has an intake of 66 students. One who has passed 10+2 in any discipline with a minimum of 45 % marks is eligible for admission. Selection is based on the scores obtained in the qualifying examination. The BHM fees at Punjabi University are Rs 2.97 lakh.

Hello Hema,

Punjabi University in Patiala does not offer a B.P.Ed course. The Department of Education at the university offers an M.P.Ed degree of 2 years with an intake of 33 students. Admission to this course is done on the basis of merit in qualifying class. The basic eligibility criteria that have to be met for admission at Punjabi University is having at least 50% marks in aggregate in B.P.Ed. or Equivalent Degree from any Indian or Foreign University/ Institution.

Punjabi University, located in Patiala offers a 4 year long BHM programme and a 4 year long BHMTT programme. The tuition fees for both BHMTT and BHM courses are Rs 20,000 at Punjabi University. Yes, a candidate from Kashmir can take admission to PUP on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the university. It will be followed by an interview also conducted by the university. A minimum of 45% is required at 10+2 level for admission to Punjabi University in the above-mentioned courses.
