R.A. Podar College Of Commerce & Economics Campus Facilities - Hostel Fees, Infrastructure, Address

The college building was constructed in 1941. It is a Gothic structure with a clock tower. It is located in the central part of the city between Dadar T.T. and Matunga C.R. providing convenient access for Central and Western railway commuters as well as commuters of road transport. The campus has an area of apprx.0.62 acres (2500 sq.mtrs.) and the built in area is 5055 sq.mtrs. The building is in the shape of an inverted T. 

The infrastructure supports the conduct of various academic programmes run by the College. The rooms are made available for the conduct of lectures. The facilities available with respect to the electronic and audio visual devices also support the conduct of academic programmes in an appropriate manner. The reading hall with a capacity of four hundred students adequately supports the academic requirements of the students. The classrooms are well equipped with adequate fans, tube lights, desks and chairs to enable a conducive environment for academic exchange through lectures. A few air-conditioned classrooms are available which are equipped with LCD projector. The college has as many as 40 different forums which include statutory bodies such as NCC, NSS, WDC, Extension, IQAC and Students' Council. Dedicated space is provided for the students with the required resources such that the activities under these forums are conducted without disturbing the lectures conducted in the college. 

The Photography Club was initially formed with the idea that Podar’s own students should photographically document all it’s various events conducted in the college premises. Over time it has expanded it’s scope to help students build photography as a hobby, through workshops and practical exposure. The Photography Club aims at nurturing budding photographers and generate an interest among the students to the world of photography.

The Podar Hikers' Club organizes TREKS for PODARITES throughout the Academic Year. It also conducts other activities like RAPPELLING, ROCK CLIMBING etc., which are generally carried out during ENIGMA & RAPPORT. 
Apart from developing the spirit of adventure, the CLUB offers a good opportunity to the students to experience nature through trekking. 
The Hikes are easily affordable and safe for students. The hikes play an important role in personality development too. We get to know our fellow Podarites especially Ex-Podarites. People come together and this helps build team spirit.

Podar nature club was established to promote the environmental awareness among the students which extends beyond classroom knowledge. The main objective of the forum is to inculcate the environmental ethics in the mind and souls of the young students transforming them into a responsible citizen. Conservation of resources, understanding the Ecological problems and taking a step ahead to do something for the environment is the need of the hour which can be effectively spread across the society through youth. Thus NATURE CLUB of R. A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics provides a platform to learn and exhibit the talent and novel ideas to improve and protect our Mother Earth.

The formation of a college level Women Development Cell was made mandatory by the University of Mumbai after the Vishaka Judgment in the year 2001. In compliance of this mandate of the University, the Women Development Cell was formed in our college in the year 2001 under the Chairmanship of Prof. Manjusha R. Sawant. Since 2005 this cell is chaired by Prof Tejashree Patankar. 

Entrepreneur Development Cell is formed to encourage and develop students of our college to be entrepreneurs in future. EDC's main objective is to motivate and inspire the students to take up their Family Business towards global standards. Therefore, with compliance of the objective of the forum, Entrepreneur Development Cell was formed under the chairmanship of Prof Tejashree Patankar.
