Those candidates who receive the ‘C’ certificate are eligible for vacancies in the IMA or OTA and also face SSB interviews. There are many societies like the fashion society - Bizzare, Dictum - the public speaking society in both English and Hindi Languages, Footloose - the dance society, a photography society called the Shutterbugs as well as theatre clubs - Vayam and Vibgyore - the fine arts society. The students can be part of these societies to grow in their fields of interests and contribute fully to Shivaji College and Delhi University as well. Leaders for tomorrow is a club provided by Shivaji College, New Delhi that helps the students who wish to grow and become future leaders of the country. Clubs like these and eco-club ensure that the students grow up to become responsible citizens of the country and help ensure that they perform their social duties in society. Apart from societies that are extra-curricular in nature, the Shivaji College clubs can also be found in the various departments of studies as well.
Shivaji College, New Delhi boasts of its location as it is located quite close to two different metro lines, viz. The Pink Line and Blue Line. Rajouri Garden on the Lines is the closest metro stations that the students can use. However, since the college also boasts of being eco-friendly and promotes a lifestyle that ensures that our environment is clean and green, parking inside the campus is not allowed. Those students who wish to be part of the Shivaji College Sports community will be glad to know that the college offers one of the largest fields among the other Delhi University colleges, as well as offering other sports infrastructure like changing rooms and lockers for the students and adequate courts for the various sports activities that take place in the college. The college also has laboratories for the students of Shivaji College Science courses.
The college also has an online portal where the students can check their attendance and internal assessment. The college also has libraries that host over 1 lakh book and many more journals and e-journals for students to read and refer to for their projects and study-based research. The college comes well equipped with an air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 400 students and is home to a World University Service Health Centre that is responsible for taking care of students and staff in the college grounds. They also offer a health card that the students can get for ?120 a year.
Shivaji College is a smoking-free and vehicle-free environment and also provides it’s female students the ability to raise their voice in cases of eve-teasing and sexual harassment as well for ragging cases. The Shivaji College Alumni Club is responsible for bringing both the current students and alumni together for one platform where the alumni can share the experiences and memories with the students. This also helps the students in understanding what the current scenario in their field is. Various meritorious awards are also given to students under the names of the alumni.
Eco-Club of Shivaji College, University of Delhi is a multidimensional, highly active society that runs in co-ordination with the Department of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. The Eco-Club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. It is actively engaged in overall environmental education by adopting various environment friendly approaches for conservation and preservation of environment.
