This is an organization at VJEC that provides students with the resources to develop robots. Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. The club also have widespread goals in the areas of embedded and mechatronics projects. Prof Jerin Cyriac is the current in-charge of robotics club and research center.
The concept and creation of autonomously operating machines dates back a long time, but credible research into the functionality and potential uses of robots did not grow substantially until the 20th century. And today, robotics is a rapidly growing field, as we continue to research, design and build new robots that serve various practical purposes including domestic, commercial and military.
Having said that, the Robotics Club of VJEC strives to stimulate interest in robotics among the students of the institute. Besides making a serious endeavor to spread knowledge on Robotics. It is this exemplary virtue that has bound the club and helped it to grow to its present potential. It was initiated way back in 2009 under the tutelage of Prof. Sunil Paul (Department of Mechanical Engineering) and over the years it has diversified. The club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and knowledge.
Robotics club also organizes seminars and workshops in the broad fields of robotics and mechatronics periodically. It also acts as a resource center and workshop for final year projects. Each year robotics club is directly involved in minimum of twenty projects and indirectly involved in so many other projects. Robotics club is also into industry consultation projects.
