Faculty of Education, Puducherry is located 16 kms away from the Puducherry Main Bus Stand towards Cuddalore. Since the institution is situated on the National Highway, buses ply from Cuddalore and other places to Puducherry via the institution. The institution is under the jurisdiction of the Bahoor Commune in Puducherry attracting students from Puducherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thindivanam and other major cities of this belt.
The college is located in a 3.27 acres campus and has a built up area of 2356 sq. ms and a sports and games area of 5342 sq. ms. The college is well-equipped with the necessary infrastructure and facilities to make the teaching-learning experience both fruitful and enjoyable.
A number of seminars on the environment are organized in the college every year, where its degradation and the hazardous effects caused to the environment are discussed to create an awareness on the environment amongst the students.
Apart from these seminars and conferences conducted by experts from outside the college, the institution is a member of the NGO, the National Green Corps (NGC) in association with which a number of rallies and awareness campaigns on the environment are organized.
Environmental Education is included in the B.Ed. curriculum as one of the compulsory elective subjects in the Second Semester.
The students/ student teachers are not confined to learning in the classroom alone. There are provided with a number of opportunities to move out of the classroom and know the outside world. To name a few of these activities are community work, field visits, remedial teaching and social service. The students/ student teachers gain first-hand knowledge and first-hand experience both inside and outside the classroom by way of interacting with the general public on some current issues like global warming, pollution, environmental degradation, wastage of environmental resources and others.
