Shimir Mishra, a first-year Master in Business Administration student from NMIMS School of Business Management Hyderabad, has made history by winning the national level case study competition, 'Niti Shastra'. The competition was organised by the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Pune in August 2023.
'Niti Shastra' comprises three rounds, including an MCQ round, a case study analysis, and a presentation round. The MCQ round includes 30 questions on government policy, economies, rates, public figures, and current affairs, with a requirement to answer at least 26 questions correctly to progress. Mishra, with his strong knowledge of current affairs and passion for case study analysis, cleared this round with ease.
In the second round, participants are given a real-life case study and must prepare a PowerPoint presentation outlining the key aspects and proposing solutions. The final round involves an expert jury assessing the presentations and asking students to demonstrate how their proposed solutions could be implemented in reality.
Prior to 'Niti Shastra', Shimir had participated in 12 major case study competitions, including Foresight & Havoc from IIM Bangalore, Flipkart Wired, TVS Credit, Amazon, HUL Lime, and more. Despite advancing in the preliminary rounds of all these competitions, he had not achieved success in the later stages.
