Eligibility

  • Students are eligible to apply for the accelerated program after they have completed sixty credit hours (at least 30 credit hours at CSU), which is typically at the end of the sophomore year. 
  • They must have a GPA of at least 3.00, both overall and in the sciences. 
  • They must apply before the end of the junior year. 
  • The application procedure follows the normal graduate admission requirements:  a complete application requires the graduate application form, transcripts, at least two letters of recommenation (preferably from departmental faculty), and an essay statement of career goals.
  • Once admitted to the joint B.S.-M.S. program, a student may complete up to 12 credits of graduate course work, while still an undergraduate; these credits will count towards undergraduate requirements, and--as long as the grades are B or better--against graduate program requirements.

Eligibility

  • Fulfillment of College of Graduate Studies requirements for admission, as described in this Catalog.
  • Application to the College of Graduate Studies for admission to the Master of Education program in one of the specialization areas. An area of specialization must be noted on the admission application form.
  • Submission of one official transcript from each college and/or university where existing degrees were completed. Transcripts must be official transcripts in a sealed envelope.
  • For all programs that do not lead to a teaching license through the Ohio Department of Education, candidates must have a score at the 50th percentile on the Miller Analogies Test or on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of Graduate Record Examination. However, a student applying for any program except Counseling is exempt from this requirement if:
     
  • The baccalaureate degree is less than six years old at the time of application AND the undergraduate cumulative grade-point average is at least 2.75; OR
  • The baccalaureate degree is more than six years old at the time of application AND the undergraduate cumulative grade-point average is at least 3.0; OR

  • Applicants must have a minimum of one year of calculus, one year of physics, one year of biology, geology, or chemistry, and one term of a computer course or demonstrated proficiency in computer usage.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must meet all College of Graduate Studies admission requirements.
  • Admission is based on a combination of factors including the applicant's undergraduate GPA and the combined GMAT score for the verbal and quantitative components. A GRE score is also acceptable.
  • Students scoring below the 20th percentile on the verbal section of the GMAT are required to take the following remedial courses in business communication: GAD 502 (16th through 19th percentile) or GAD 501 and GAD 502 (below the 16th percentile). Students scoring below the 25th percentile on the quantitative section of the GMAT are required to take a two-credit course, OSM 500. The GMAT may be waived for applicants holding Ph.D. or MD degrees. Medical doctors must be licensed to practice in the United States in order to be considered for a waiver.   • A score from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) may be substituted for the GMAT. The total GRE score, if applied to the above admission formula, will consist of the average of the verbal and quantitative (mathematics) components of the GRE score. The percentile at which a student scores on the verbal or the quantitative components of the GRE will determine whether remedial courses in the respective areas (GAD 501/GAD 502; OSM 500) will be prescribed.
  • An official transcript from each college and university previously attended must be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
  • tudents who have completed a three-year baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution outside the U.S. may be eligible for admission to the Monte Ahuja College of Business MBA "Bridge" program.
