NID Kurukshetra Fees Structure & Courses List 2024-25

In order to become one of the world's top centres for design education and research, the National Institute of Design Kurukshetra (NID Kurukshetra) or the National Institute of Design Haryana (NID Haryana) was established in 2016. In the corporate, industrial, and development sectors, the institute seeks to set the bar for new design movements. Through the NID Kurukshetra courses emphasis is put on the changing industry trends and updating frequently to keep up with them. This autonomous institution was founded by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Government of India and the AIU have all given their approval. 

The NID Kurukshetra courses list includes only one undergraduate-level programme. The course offered is a  four-year-long bachelor of design (B.Des) programme which is spread out over eight semesters. The course offers three specialisations namely, industrial design, communication design and textile and apparel design. The NID Haryana fees for the B.Des course is Rs 10.36 lakh for four years. NID Kurukshetra Fee Structure and Courses List

A one-year Foundation Programme is introduced for the students in addition to the NID Kurukshetra B.Des course to teach the fundamentals of design and aid in the development of ways of perception, aesthetic sensitivity, understanding of the multidisciplinary nature of design, and relationships between design and human senses and emotions, culture, environment, and ecology. This course is spread out over two semesters.

The NID Kurukshetra course admissions are based on the candidate's previous academic merit and a valid entrance exam score. The entrance examination is mandatory for all candidates to secure admission to the B.Des course. The exam accepted for admission is NID DAT  (Design Aptitude Test). The test has two parts the Prelims and Mains. The candidates who pass the Prelims round are only eligible for the Mains exam. For its female students, NID Kurukshetra has established a stay/hostel agreement with the National Institute of Technology, and for its male students, SKIET at Kurukshetra University.
