  • You must submit your curriculum vitae and an essay demonstrating your commitment to midwifery and any life experience relevant to midwifery and/or women’s health.
  • You must demonstrate self-responsibility in relation to learning and practice and the personal qualities appropriate for midwifery practice such as strong communication skills and a demonstrated interest in women's and childrens health. 
  • You must provide the names and email addresses of two referees who can attest to your suitability to train as a midwife. One must be from an employer/community group and the other an academic referee; referees must be persons of standing in the community who are not friends or relatives.   • You must provide a health declaration and current First Aid Certificate (including proficiency in CPR – NQF unit standards 6401 and 6402 OR equivalent).
  • You must provide a conviction declaration and you will be required to provide permission for a Police Check to ensure you meet the requirements of the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014.
  • You must provide a verified copy of your full driver’s license. 
  • You must have good computer skills.

Eligibility

  • You must hold a Diploma OR Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from a World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) approved programme (OR equivalent), OR a Certificate of Registration (New Zealand).
  • If you hold a Diploma or Certificate of Registration, you must also provide evidence of commitment to further education and two confidential referees attesting to your ability to manage postgraduate study.
  • You must provide evidence of registration as an occupational therapist (Annual Practising Certificate), although this can be waived in certain circumstances.

Eligibility

  • We prefer that you have successfully completed a 60 credit (minimum) Level 4 tertiary qualification in journalism or similar media-related programme such as the Certificate in Media Communication OR that you have relevant life or work experience.
  • The tasks undertaken require you to provide evidence of competence as specified above.

Eligibility

  • We prefer that you have at least 36 NCEA credits at Level 2, made up of at least 12 credits in each of three subjects.
  • Applications from mature students (over 20) are welcome.
  • International students will be individually assessed to ensure you are ready for this study.
  • If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate English language skills equivalent to an IELTS overall band score (academic) of 5.5, with no band score less than 5.5.
