COVID 19 Response 

In a bid to curb the spread of the virus, Glasgow Caledonian University has developed an apt COVID-19 Response. From strictly maintaining the social distancing norms on campus to modifying campus facilities, Glasgow Caledonian University has taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety and health of all students, staff and faculty: 

  • GCU has also set up free asymptomatic COVID-19 tests at the Glasgow campus and students who are returning on-campus are encouraged to take the test regularly.

  • Glasgow Caledonian University will increase the face-to-face on-campus teaching as soon as Scottish Government public health guidance permits.

  • Students can access the study spaces and library. On-campus accommodation facilities are also available and all COVID-19 safe guidelines are being followed.

  • Social distancing norms will be implemented strictly, such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance and constant sanitisation.

  • For all in-person classes, the laboratories and classrooms have been modified and changed to accommodate the social distancing practices in confined spaces as well.

  • The Students’ Association of GCU is operating its services online.

Undergraduate Scholarships

New to GCU Scholarship

  • Candidates will automatically be eligible for the scholarship when they are offered a place in the course.
  • To invoice the same each year, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria.

Amount: £4,000

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Self-funded International Students who apply to GCU for the first time are eligible.
  • Those interested in the scholarship must have enrolled in a full-time scholarship programme.

Oh Polly Scholarship for BAME (Black, Asia, Minority Ethnic) Fashion Students

  • To apply, students are required to fill out an application form and film a short video featuring themselves.
  • The video should contain reasons why you should be selected for the Oh Polly Scholarship.
  • They must also display their passion for the fashion industry while also highlighting their social media skills.
  • The scholarship will also provide winners with work placement and other opportunities to engage with the company as well.

Amount: £2,500 yearly stipend

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All GCU students who are enrolled in either BA (Hons) International Fashion Branding or BA(Hons) Fashion Design with Business are eligible for the scholarship.

Postgraduate Scholarships

Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship

  • Candidates applying for the scholarship will be required to sign a consent form for the Ambassadors Charter, if successful.
  • Under the Ambassadors Charter, candidates will be required to record 3 blogs or vlogs regarding your experience as a GCU student.
  • The Ambassadors Charter will also require you to take over at 1 social media, for instance, IG Live.
  • You will also be required to become a Unibuddy, helping prospective students and clarifying their doubts and questions regarding GCU Student Life for 1 hour every week.
  • Since the competition for the scholarship is immense, you are advised to properly define and detail the impacts of your activities for the Common Good.

Amount:15,000 towards the tuition fee

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students must be enrolled or hold an offer of study at GCU London or Glasgow campus.
  • All candidates should be able to cover the living costs as per the requirements of the UKVI while applying for a Visa.
  • Candidates who are enrolling at a Full-time taught Postgraduate Masters programme are eligible for the scholarship.
  • While submitting an application form, candidates are also required to submit a 2-minute long video that includes information about yourself and your contributions to the common good. Candidates will be required to submit a Youtube or Vimeo video link on the application.

New to GCU Scholarship

  • This fee discount will be applicable to postgraduate international students who are self-funded.

Amount:2,600 - 3,600

Eligibility Criteria:

  • International students enrolled in a masters programme at GCU are eligible for the scholarship
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a Full-time taught PG masters programme at GCU.
  • PG Taught students enrolled in a 2-year masters programme will be eligible for 1,600 scholarship towards their tuition fees, the first year and subsequently 1,000 each year afterwards. Thus, adding up to 2,600 for 2 years.
  • PG taught students enrolled in a 3-year Masters programme will be eligible for a 1,600 scholarship towards their tuition fee for the first year and subsequently, 1,000 for each year afterwards. Thus, adding up to 3,600 for 3 years.
  • Those enrolled in a Fast-Track course will be eligible for half of the standard New to GCU scholarship.

Chancellor Yunus Scholarship

  • Candidates must provide approval for the use of their photographs which may be used in Print Media as well as the University websites.
  • Candidates will be required to be present for all scholarship-related activities which are hosted by the University or Santander.
  • Candidates will also have to acknowledge that the information provided by them on the online application form will be verified by the University. This information will be shared with the appropriate staff and administration members who will confer the scholarship. The information may also be shared with the relevant individuals for the purpose of verification, legal requirement or be released as per University regulation.
  • Candidates will not be able to transfer the scholarship to another programme if they choose to change their course of study.

Amount:6,000 towards the tuition fee for M.Sc in Social Innovation programme

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All International and EU Home and Rest of UK students will be considered for the scholarship once they apply for the M.Sc in Social Innovation programme.
  • Scholarships will be awarded to candidates depending on merit and the promise of the candidate, which includes their financial standing.
