GMC Jammu admission 2023 for MBBS or BDS courses shall be conducted based on NEET results followed by the counselling process. Students who have qualified the NEET exam shall appear for the counselling process. The NEET round 1 counselling registration 2023 will begin on July 20, 2023. The round 1 choice filling and locking process will be conducted between July 22 to July 26, 2023. Moreover, the NEET counselling result round 1 is expected to be announced on July 29, 2023. 

GMC Jammu medical course admission 2023 are offered on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in NEET UG results 2023. NTA has announced the NEET 2023 results on June 13, 2023. Candidates have to get their login credentials ready i.e. application number and date of birth and visit the NEET result official website to download scorecards. GMC Jammu courses were started to train fifty medical students for MBBS courses per year and to serve as a referral hospital for Jammu Province. But now the seating capacity has been increased to 120 students per year, Besides the MBBS course, the college also imparts a post-graduate training course. The college offers post-graduate training programmes and M.B.B.S. courses. In order to promote medical education, GMC, Jammu has steadily raised its intake and implemented quick adjustments.

GMC Jammu faculty are highly qualified. There are 800 doctors including faculty and residents, 1000 Paramedical Staff including supervisory staff, and 1500 Class-III & IV employees working in the college and its associated hospitals. Three Blocks. i.e., R.s.Pura, Kot-Bhalwal, and Dansal are also affiliated with Medical College, Jammu for the training of undergraduates & post-graduate students of the college.

The Government Medical College Jammu (GMC) was founded in 1973 to offer medical training and healthcare to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. This institution was established with the express objective of annually training fifty MBBS students and acting as a referral for the hospital in Jammu. The number of pupils currently seated has increased to 150 annually. At present, Govt. The Ancillary Medical Training (A.M.T.) The school is a pioneer institute for training the Ancillary Medical personnel in the Jammu Division of Jammu & Kashmir State and offering basic and promotional educational programs. It is controlled financially by the Principal, Govt. Medical College & Dean to associated Hospitals, Jammu and academically affiliated to Jammu & Kashmir State Medical Faculty. The primary objective of the school is to provide and promote education in the field of health.

The school was established in the year 1953 and initially three years of General Nursing, Two years of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife and one year of Paramedical i.e. Compounder, Dental Technician, Laboratory Technician, Radiological Technician and Sanitary Inspector Diploma Programs were formulated to meet the health needs of the society of Jammu division. Later nine months midwifery program was added to General Nursing Program and two years Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Program was replaced with and half years Female Multi-purpose Health Worker Program as per the central pattern. In the year 1981, the Jammu and Kashmir State Medical Faculty approved the initiation of two years Ophthalmic Assistant Diploma Program.

In 1996, six months Lady Health Visitor promotional Training Program for trained Female Multi-purpose Health Workers was also started to meet the health needs in the Public Health Field. The Compounder, Dental Technician, Laboratory Technician, and Radiological Tech. Sanitary Inspector programmes have been revised and now two years Diploma programme in Pharmacist/Medical Asstt., Dental Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, X-ray Assistant, and Sanitary Inspector are being offered. Further three and half years of General Nursing and Midwifery courses as per the Indian Nursing Council have also been adopted from the current session.

Central Computer Cell: A Central Computer Cell has been established in the administrative Block of the Principal for the Administration, Accounts, and Student sections. While the work of the college has been computerized. All the section has been connected with the Principal and connecting the various departments with the principal is going on. Central Library: Central Library of GMC, Jammu has four Undergraduates and two Post-graduate and one staff common reading. One Journal section, one reference section, one teacher's section and a reading hall with a seating capacity of one hundred is available in the library. 329 and more (Indian and Foreign) journals are subscribed to annually for the research work. Hostels: The college has the facility of separate hostels for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
