Government College of Education, Srinagar is approved by UGC and affiliated to University of Kashmir. College mission is to prepare teachers with positive and healthy attitudes towards teaching profession with a deep sense of equity, social and gender justice and sensitiveness to weaker, downtrodden and underprivileged sections of society. The college offers Bachelor of Education and Master of Education course.Our College, one of the oldest College of Howrah District, established in 1946,1st August by Late Panchanan Chongdar of Howrah in memory of his father Late Ramsaday Chongdar has been named as Ramsaday College. This College is the fulfilment of a virtuous dream of Panchanan Chongdar.The College building, which is now being expanded to meet the demands for additional space and for modernisation, is situated on the bank of the river Damodar at Amta about 1/2 k.m. from Amta Bus Stand, Howrah. It is accessible by all forms of public transport. Ramsaday College, affiliated to University of Calcutta, is the second oldest rural college of Howrah District. It has an illustrious tradition which contributes to its very own culture. It was established on 1 st August of 1946 under the visionary leadership of educationist Late Panchanan Chongdar. It was he who wanted to spread education and 'Utility of Education' among the poor and backward people of the society. He advocated the concept of empowerment of women. The college had a very humble beginning with a handful of students starting their classes is a few rooms. However today's picture is one of complete transformation. Struggle is still there but is no more a simple struggle for survival but rather a constant endeavour to attain excellence.

The Conference hall has been recently established in a big hall of the college building. It can accomodate 50 persons at a time. It is equipped with latest technology like Projectors, Computers and Interactive board to facilitate effective presentations. The College is going to upgrade it with Public Address System.Playground represents the utmost need for outdoor sports and games activities viz: Volley ball, throw ball, badminton, kabadi, Kho-kho, cricket etc. It covers more than 5 kanals of land. Students of the college do actively participate in the above mentioned sports activities, with active involvement of the physical education staff.The college has the credit of having a very good Technology lab which comprises of latest apparatus , instruments and gadgets which include: Computers LCD Projectors Interactive Board Overhead Projectors Camcorders Cameras Audio systems Video systems.
