IIM Indore CAT Cutoff 2026: PGP Percentile, Selection Criteria & Fees

IIM Indore CAT cutoff 2026 sets the minimum percentile a CAT 2026 aspirant must clear to be considered for the two-year PGP (2027–29 batch). The General and EWS category minimum overall cutoff is 90.00 percentile, and every section — VARC, DILR, and QA — must individually cross 80.00 percentile. Missing even one section eliminates the candidature regardless of the overall score.

CAT 2026 is being conducted by IIM Indore itself. The Registration starts from August 3 to September 15, 2026, and the exam is on November 29, 2026, in three sessions across 170+ cities. CAT 2026 scores will drive IIM Indore PGP shortlisting in January 2027, with PI rounds following across Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and four other cities.

The cutoffs shown below are based on IIM Indore's published admission procedure for the 2026–28 batch (CAT 2025). IIM Indore has maintained identical minimum cutoffs across multiple cycles; a change is possible but historically rare. The 2027–29 admission policy will be published after CAT 2026 registration closes. Students can register for CAT 2026 at iimcat.ac.in.

IIM Indore CAT Cutoff 2026

IIM Indore's minimum overall CAT percentile for the General and EWS categories is 90.00. Reserved categories receive proportionate relaxation as per Government of India reservation norms. Meeting this threshold qualifies the candidate for Stage I of the selection process — it does not guarantee a PI call.

The table below shows the minimum overall CAT percentile per category. These are IIM Indore's published minimum eligibility cutoffs. Actual cutoffs for the 2027–29 batch depend on the applicant pool and will be announced after CAT 2026 results.

Note: EWS and General candidates share the same overall cutoff of 90 percentile. The NC-OBC cutoff is 80 percentile, representing a 10-point relaxation.

IIM Indore Sectional Cutoff 2026

IIM Indore applies strict sectional percentile floors alongside the overall cutoff. Scoring 90+ overall but below 80 in even one section disqualifies the application at Stage I. This applies uniformly across General and EWS categories. Reserved categories have proportionately lower sectional thresholds.

Note: All three sectional cutoffs are identical within a category. A zero or sub-threshold score in any single section results in outright rejection, regardless of the overall percentile.

How Does IIM Indore Shortlist Candidates for PI (Composite Score)?

Once Stage I eligibility is cleared, IIM Indore computes a Composite Score (CS) for each category's merit list. The Composite Score weights four components: Class X marks (10 points), Class XII marks (25 points), CAT 2026 sectional scores (VARC 16, DILR 16, QA 23 — total 55 points), Diversity Factor (7 points), and Work Experience up to 3 points.

QA carries the highest CAT weight (23 points) in the shortlisting composite, making it the most impactful section for ranking. Class XII marks contribute 25 points — the single largest component — which means strong academics help even borderline CAT scorers get a PI call.

Note: Class X and XII scores are normalised across boards. Work Experience adds 0–3 points. Diversity Factor accounts for gender and academic background diversity. PI shortlist calls are sent in January (after CAT results).

IIM Indore Selection Process PGP 2027–29

IIM Indore follows a three-stage selection process. Stage I filters on minimum CAT cutoffs. Stage II ranks filtered candidates by Composite Score and calls a sufficient number per category for Personal Interview. Stage III generates the final merit list based on the Final Composite Score, which gives 45 points to the PI.

Candidates not meeting minimum PI performance thresholds set by the Admissions Committee are not considered for Stage III, even if they attended the interview. IIM Indore does not send individual rejection letters to candidates not shortlisted for PI.

IIM Indore Actual CAT Cutoff Trend

The minimum eligibility cutoff is the floor, not the admission score. The actual cutoffs — the lowest percentile among students who received final admission offers — are consistently higher, as the total applicant pool determines competition. The data below is sourced from RTI filings for the 2025–27 batch and official data for 2024–26.

Note: These are the lowest percentile scores among candidates who received final admission offers — not the minimum eligibility threshold. General category admits in the last two cycles scored above 90.72 percentile.

What Composite Scores Are Needed for Shortlisting and Final Selection?

IIM Indore Composite Score and Final Composite Score at which candidates cleared each selection stage are available from IIM Indore RTI data for the 2025–27 batch. These cutoffs reflect actual shortlisting and selection thresholds, not published minimum cutoffs.

Note: Composite scores include normalised academic scores and CAT section scores. Final Composite Score adds the 45-point PI score. A strong PI can bridge a modest deficit in academic scores.

How Does the Final Composite Score Work at IIM Indore?

The Final Composite Score (FCS) determines who receives a provisional admission offer. Unlike the PI shortlisting score, the FCS gives 45 out of 100 points to the Personal Interview — making it the single most important component of the final merit list. Class X and XII scores each carry just 5 points at this stage.

Note: VARC (20 points) is weighted twice as heavily as DILR or QA (10 each) in the Final Composite Score — a shift from the shortlisting stage where QA carried 23 points. PI performance has the highest weight in the final merit list.

IIM Indore Eligibility Criteria 2026

A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) is the core eligibility requirement. Final-year undergraduates can apply provisionally — they must submit a completion certificate from their institution by June 30, 2027.

Professional degree holders (CA/CS/ICWA-CMA/FIAI) with the required percentage are also eligible. Candidates must have registered for IIM Indore's PGP while filling the CAT 2026 application form itself — no separate post-exam application is available.

IIM Indore Vs Other IIMs: CAT Cutoff

IIM Indore shares the 90 percentile overall threshold with IIM Kozhikode and IIM Lucknow for the General/EWS category. The older IIMs — IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta — set higher minimum thresholds, typically at 95+ percentile overall. The table below shows published minimum eligibility cutoffs; actual admission cutoffs at all IIMs run 2–5 percentile points higher.

IIM Indore PGP Fees 2026

The total two-year course fee for Indian students (via CAT) at IIM Indore for the 2026–28 batch is INR 24,11,800. This includes tuition (INR 24,00,000 across two years) and the alumni fee (INR 11,800 GST-inclusive). A refundable caution deposit of INR 50,000 and mess deposit of INR 54,000 are collected separately in Year 1. NRI candidates pay INR 36,11,800 total.

Fees are paid in three term-wise instalments per year across six total instalments, making the per-term outgo around INR 4 lakh (Indian students). The fee does not cover textbooks, personal electricity expenses, or optional sports and wellness memberships.
