Established in 2009, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi is one of the top management colleges in India. IIM Ranchi was set up with support from IIM Calcutta and the Government of Jharkhand, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. IIM Ranchi has been ranked 17th in the management category in the NIRF Ranking List 2024.

The college offers admission to management courses. IIM Nagpur admissions are offered in MBA, MBA HRM, PhD etc. programmes. It is the only IIM offering a full-time MBA Human Resource Management (HRM) programme. IIM Ranchi accepts CAT scores for MBA, MBA HRM and MBA Business Analytics admissions. There has been remarkable growth in the last few years in terms of IIM Ranchi placements with major brands such as Cognizant, Accenture, ONGC, Tata Steel, Bosch, GAIL, Capgemini, ICICI, IBM etc. offering jobs to students. 

The institute has collaborations with overseas universities and has a student exchange programme for its students. Alba Graduate Business School, Greece, The American Business School of Paris etc. are some of the global partners of Indian Institute of Management Ranchi. The college provides merit and need based scholarships. IIM Ranchi campus has upgraded facilities and infrastructure for the convenience of students. 

IIM Ranchi has concluded its placements for the 2025 batch, achieving a 100% placement rate. The highest domestic salary package offered was 50.39 LPA. The average salary stood at 19.2 LPA, with the median salary at 17.64 LPA. The top 25% of the batch secured an average salary of 26 LPA.
