The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) welcomed its largest batch of 148 students to the Class of 2024 of its Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (MBA PGPX). This is the 18th batch of one year full-time course. The PGPX course is customised to provide experienced professionals with world-class management education that enables them to fast track their careers. The Class was welcomed by Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIMA; Professor Pradyumana Khokle, Dean Programmes and Professor Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson, MBA PGPX at IIMA. Over 36% students in the class have international work experience of about 15 years. Whereas, 4.73% students are from foreign countries and 9.28% students have studies in international institutes.
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad conducted a leadership programme for visually challenged women professionals. The programme was conceptualised by Professor Rajesh Chandwani, IIMA faculty member and the Dr Lal PathLabs Chair in Healthcare at IIMA. The aim of the programme was to equip the participants with knowledge and skills that can help in grooming them to take on leadership roles. Eleven other faculty members from IIMA and the Blind People’s Association (BPA) with expertise in different academic areas have come together to take sessions on a wide range of subjects for the participants.
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, a B-school with a global reputation, successfully conducted its 58th Annual Convocation on April 2, 2023, at the Louis Kahn Plaza, Ahmedabad. The event was graced by Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, Founder, Infosys Ltd. (Chief Guest) along with Mr. Pankaj R Patel (Chairperson), IIMA Board of Governors, Prof. Bharat Bhasker (Director, IIMA), and IIM Ahmedabad Board members and faculty members.
The convocation procession was led by Prof. Pradyumana Khokle (Dean - Programmes) and Prof. Diptesh Ghosh (Chairperson of the PhD programme in Management) followed by the Chairpersons of all programmes, faculty members, and students wearing the ceremonial stoles embellished with the IIM Ahmedabad logo.
This year, a total of 597 students graduated from IIM Ahmedabad. Among them 380 were from the two-year PGP programme, 48 were from the two-year PGP-FABM programme, 140 were from the one-year PGPX programme, and 29 were from the PhD in Management programme. All of them received their graduation certificates from the Chairman. Moreover, the gold medallists were felicitated by the Chief Guest.
