Established in 2006, the Maeer’s MIT Institute of Design (MITID) was developed with a vision to become a research and training institute of the highest international quality. The college works closely with international & national design communities and has collaborations with over 10 reputed universities spread across the world. Located in Pune, MITID offers various top-notch specialisations in B.Des and M.Des degrees. Other than that, MITID also offers a few collaborative twinning design programmes at the UG level.

• MITID Students Win Student Design Competition at Pune Design Festival 2017
• MITID bagged the YUJ Designs Uxplorer Awards 2016 by YUJ Designs, Pune.
• Gaurav Nandi, an MITID student of M.Des (Transportation Design) won the 1st prize for his vehicle design at the Auto Expo 2016.
• Srushti Adake student from the MITID Pune UX Dept. has Won a Trophy, Certificate & Rs 50,000/- Award for "Best Narrative Audio" for her Audio Feature "WAKE UP".
• Sushruta Sarkar student from Graphics Dept. has received a Certificate of Merit for featuring in the Final Top 3 "Best Experimental Audio" at the Audiophile Section of the 6th Alpavirama International Youth & Short Film Festival, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
• MITID Alumni Aditya and his team won the first prize in the short film competition organised by the Society for Cyber Security Council ( SCSC) Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police. They got a cash prize of Rs 50K, and their film will soon be released in the theatres.

MIT Institute of Design has a large campus with excellent facilities such as a well-furnished and huge library that is spread over 7005.81 sq. ft of land. It is equipped with the latest books, bound volumes, DVD's/CDs/VCD', project reports, journals, magazines etc. The classrooms at MITID are very spacious with advanced amenities. MIT Institute of Design provides numerous outdoor and indoor games such as Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Table tennis, carom, Badminton etc. It also has other facilities like a gym, canteen and computer lab just to name a few. The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls which include homely accommodation, 24 hours security, high-speed wifi, hygienic mess, laundry services etc.

The faculty members at MITID are highly qualified and very supportive. They adopt practical as well as theoretical teaching techniques which make the process easy and fun. MITID Pune has an annual design festival and the design curriculum at MITID is quite vibrant and wherein students are encouraged to take part in multiple activities which go beyond academics. This helps in their overall development. It also has a design store, known as iDid which is a student initiative and was founded in 2009. It is an arena for learners to showcase their skills/designs and take them to the next level.

Learning is comprehensive and each project has a mentor and one or two students who pursue the same course as the participating mentor at the Maeer's MIT Institute of Design. Mentors from various design-related disciplines are invited to be a part of MITID and interact with the budding designers or students who are learning. They teach them how to explore different areas when it comes to design. Mentors are selected at Maeer's MIT Institute of Design from the fields of biomechanics, linguistics (semiotics), alternative energy systems, performing arts, sociology, design anthropology, plastics arts, perception and cognitive psychologies etc.

At MIT Institute of Design, live projects are done across all disciplines. A group of students from a particular class works on the design solution under the guidance of a faculty for the same. Social welfare is also an important aspect of MITID’s culture. There are various projects in Sanitation, Health care, Community Development, Women safety and security, and Child Development. MITID has an active Industry Relation Department that holds an excellent track record of placing students in reputed companies. The college strives for 100% placement every year and invites top recruiters from around the nation to participate in the campus drive.
