What Is COMEDK Round 2 (KKR) Allotment 2026?

COMEDK Round 2 in 2026 allots Kalyana Karnataka Region (KKR) seats only. General Merit (GM) candidates do not take part in this round, since COMEDK UGET counselling for engineering recognises just two categories at the centralised level: GM and KKR.

KKR stands for Kalyana Karnataka Region, the group of north Karnataka districts that receive reserved engineering seats under Article 371(J) of the Constitution. Candidates who claim a KKR seat must hold a valid 371J certificate along with a Karnataka Domicile Certificate.

How Do I Check My MSRIT COMEDK Round 2 Allotment Result?

Log in to the COMEDK engineering counselling portal to see the MSRIT Bangalore Round 2 allotment result. The steps are the same for every candidate:

1. Go to the login page: Open the COMEDK UGET engineering login page on comedk.org.
2. Enter credentials: Use the application number and password created during registration.
3. Check the result: Open the allotment result section to see whether a seat at MSRIT has come through.
4. Make a decision: Choose Accept & Freeze, Reject & Upgrade, or Reject & Withdraw. The options that appear depend on the decision taken in Round 1.
5. Pay the fee: If accepting the seat, complete the fee payment online through the same COMEDK login.
6. Save the proof: Download the allotment letter and fee receipt, and carry both while reporting to MSRIT.

MSRIT BE Computer Science and Engineering closed Round 1 2026 at rank 688 in the General Merit category and rank 3,699 in the KKR category. Every branch at MSRIT filled its General Merit seats within Round 1 itself, which is why Round 2 carries no General Merit allotment at MSRIT, only the KKR seats covered in the next section.

Computer Science and its allied branches, including the AI and Cyber Security specialisations, closed inside rank 1,300 for General Merit. Core branches such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Medical Electronics Engineering stayed open past rank 5,000, giving General Merit candidates a wider band of choice before Round 1 ended.

How Many KKR Seats Are Left at MSRIT for Round 2?

MSRIT had 20 KKR seats vacant across its 17 branches when Round 2 choice filling opened on August 5, 2026, out of 44 KKR seats sanctioned for the college overall. Computer Science and Engineering carries the most vacancies, at 4 seats.

Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Industrial Engineering & Management went into Round 2 with their entire KKR quota still open. Information Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation had no KKR seats left at all.

What Is the MSRIT COMEDK Fee and How Do I Pay It?

The total MSRIT COMEDK fee 2026 is INR 3,22,000 a year for every BE branch. This is made up of INR 3,02,000 as tuition fee and INR 20,000 as other fee, and both amounts go together to COMEDK, not to the college directly.

Candidates pay this Total Fee online at the time of Accept & Freeze or Accept & Upgrade. If a later round allots a seat with a higher fee, the difference is collected then. If the fee is lower, COMEDK refunds the difference once counselling ends. Colleges can separately collect skill-lab charges of up to INR 20,000 and applicable university fees at the time of reporting.

What Happens If You Miss the August 10 Deadline

Candidates who do not pay the fee and confirm a decision by August 10, 4 PM lose the Round 2 seat. COMEDK treats no action as Reject & Withdraw, which removes the candidate from every further round.

Reporting matters just as much. A candidate who pays the fee, accepts a seat, and then does not join MSRIT forfeits the entire fee paid at the COMEDK level and can be charged a penalty of five times the fee. Any refund goes back only to the same account used to make the payment.

MSRIT's core Computer Science and Engineering rank sits between RVCE and DSCE among Bangalore's well-known COMEDK colleges. RV College of Engineering closed CSE General Merit at rank 228 in Round 1 2026, tighter than MSRIT. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering and B N M Institute of Technology both closed wider, at 3,526 and 14,967.

All four colleges are in Bengaluru and run Round 2 on the same KKR-only basis, so choosing between them in Round 2 means comparing whatever KKR seats each college has left, not fresh General Merit ranks.
