Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Newcastle University has three campuses located at London, Singapore and Malaysia. The main campus which is in London expands over an area of 50 acres. Hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered under the Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering which is also available for international students. The three Faculties have academic schools, research institutes and research centres to conduct academic and research-based courses. International students can also apply for International Preparation Courses to enhance English language skills before getting enrolled in a degree programme.

COVID-19 Response 2021

The latest update related to the academic teaching and learning programme at Newcastle University along with information on measures taken for the safety of everyone on campus is as follows:

  • The UK Government has granted permission to the UK Universities to start in-person teaching from May 17, 2021. Thus, all students at Newcastle University are likely to return to campus from September 2021 and all information related to the new academic session shall be communicated to students.

  • Students are expected to take two Rapid (LFD) Tests on arrival in Newcastle. Those who are travelling from other countries must follow the guidelines as defined by the UK Government.

  • For academic help and support, Newcastle University provided personal tutor facilities to students. At campus, there are helpers to guide and help students to access the campus resources safely. Students accessing the campus facilities should continue to get tested regularly as per the current Government advice.

Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships

Newcastle University offers 200 partial Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships to help outstanding international students financially. It is offered to international students from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam who join Newcastle University. 

The eligibility criteria to be considered for a scholarship is as follows:

  • The candidate must belong to India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand or Vietnam.

  • The candidate must have an offer for an undergraduate degree or postgraduate Master’s degree at Newcastle University.

  • The candidate must be considered as international for the payment of fees.

  • The candidate must meet the merit criteria like academic grades and performances to be considered for the scholarship. 

Candidates need not apply for Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship. The eligible candidates are directly considered for the scholarship while applying for the course.

Value of Scholarship: The scholarship covers £4000 of the tuition fee.

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships 2021

Newcastle University offers 13 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships to deserving candidates applying for full-time undergraduate studies at the university. It is offered to international students from India, Kenya, Malaysia, Turkey and the USA. 

The scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees of the eligible candidate. The scholarship also covers 100% of the tuition fees for students who belong to India and the USA. 

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships 2021 Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria to be considered for Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships is as follows:

  • Candidates must belong to India, Kenya, Malaysia, Turkey or USA for %0% tuition fee waived. For 100% tuition fee waived, the candidate must belong to India or USA. 

  • Candidates must be considered as international for fees payment.

  • Must be enrolled in undergraduate full- time studies at the university.

  • Must score a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent grades.

Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships 2021 Application Form 2021 

Candidates must fill in a separate application form for the scholarship. They must provide academic details, and submit a personal statement and a reference along with the scholarship application. 

Application Dates 2021

The deadline to submit the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarships application form for September 2021 intake is 27 May 2021. 

Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2021

 

Newcastle University has partnered with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign to offer scholarships to students from India, Malaysia and China enrolling for postgraduate taught programmes in 2021.

The scholarship has been initiated by the UK government with an aim to promote the UK on a global level. The British Council has partnered with the UK government to promote and raise awareness on education, arts and the English language. 

 Eligibility criteria for Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2021 

The minimum requirements to be considered for Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2021 is as follows: 

  • Must hold a passport of India,  Malaysia or China. 

  • Must be paying fees as an international student.

  • Must have an offer letter for the Master’s degree programme at Newcastle University. Applicants from India must be enrolled in postgraduate taught degree programmes in Engineering/ Law or Biosciences. 

  • Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2021 is a merit-based scholarship. The applicant must demonstrate excellent academic achievement, commitment to studies and have a strong application be shortlisted for  Newcastle University GREAT Scholarships 2021

Students who have an offer from Newcastle University must fill in the International Postgraduate Scholarship Application Form 2021 available on the official website of the university.

No other application is accepted for scholarship.
