National Institute of Fashion Technology Navi Mumbai Curriculum

The NIFT Mumbai curriculum has evolved and grown with the expansion of the Indian fashion sector. NIFT graduates have had a notable presence in both the Indian and worldwide fashion due to thier creative aptness.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology Mumbai curriculum cultivates a design sensibility that strikes a balance between global fashion aesthetics and an Indian soul. It caters to the needs of the Indian export market, as well as couture and prêt-à-porter. The capacity to create and channel creativity is instilled through holistic inputs on generic design and a focused approach to clothes.

Through visits, industry-related projects, and lectures by industry experts, the revised curriculum is aimed to instil a strong communication design foundation with an improved industry interface. Furthermore, in addition to the existing industry exposure, internship, and graduation project, the new curriculum includes a required industry connection beginning in semester III in the form of field visits, classroom projects, and special lectures by industry professionals and experts.

With three Inter-Disciplinary Minors to choose from, the new curriculum provides a lot more freedom. The combination gives students multi-skills and empathy, allowing them to work across disciplines while reducing redundancy. IDMs are available to UG and PG students in each department.

The goal at National Institute of Fashion Technology Mumbai is to keep a close eye on students' progress as competent professionals and to provide constructive criticism on their performance and development.
