NMIMS Mumbai has invited applications for phase 2 admission in PhD programmes. Full-time students will be offered fellowships. Along with that, eligible candidates can avail scholarships upto Rs 2,00,000 per annum. The programme is available in nine streams. The NMIMS Mumbai application process is ongoing and the last date to apply is June 23, 2024.
SVKM’s NMIMS Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management (PDSE&FBM) launches its new academic course, BBA in Finance. This course aims to teach students finance in the context of major changes due to new technologies, regulations, market dynamics, and economic trends. This new course follows the New Education Policy 2020 guidelines. BBA in Finance is a four-year programme with 175 credits. The curriculum includes 61 courses, a summer internship, and a research project or dissertation. Students will learn about topics like financial management, investment analysis, corporate finance, financial modelling, and financial markets. For admission to BBA in Finance, students must have passed class 12 with 50% or more marks in Maths/Statistics. Selection is based on merit and interview performance. NPAT scores will also be considered.

NMIMS Mumbai News: Students from the School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) at NMIMS Mumbai demonstrated their inventiveness and technological progress and won prizes at the Smart India Hackathon 23. Second-year computer engineering students, Mahek Mushrif and Hittanshu Upadyay, were placed third in the M-Indicator Hackathon 2024, which took place in January 2024. Both working professionals and students could participate in the hackathon. Mahek and Hittanshu took part in the competition's Android Hackathon phase. Participants were to create a functional prototype of an Android application for the transportation industry in the course of the 24-hour competition. Earlier in December 2023, team "Narcotech" advanced to the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon 2023.

SKVM’s NMIMS Mumbai, a deeded-to-be-university in Mumbai, closed the online registration process for its UG entrance exams NPAT, NCET, and NLAT on May 21, 2023. However, the exam scheduling window will remain open till May 23, 2023. Every year, the university conducts these exams for admission to its various UG programmes across various cities in India. This year, the exams are being conducted across 23 Indian states and multiple Indian cities.
NPAT, NCET, and NLAT exams are essential for the NMIMS Mumbai UG admission process 2023. NMIMS PAT is the entrance exam for admission to various UG commerce/ economics / liberal arts/ branding/ international studies/ management courses available under the various schools at NMIMS Mumbai, while NCET is acceptable for UG engineering and pharmacy courses at the university. On the other hand, NLAT is the law entrance exam for NMIMS Mumbai. All these entrance test scores are accepted across all the NMIMS Mumbai campuses.
Students of NMIMS STME Indore have recently showcased their excellence by winning at the IIT Kanpur Techkriti Fest 2023. Multiple teams from NMIMS STME Indore participated in the final round and achieved success with their innovative ideas and exceptional skills in various competitions.
Team Technophiles bagged the 6th position with their innovative take on Sea Exploration, significantly reducing the cost of traditional exploration machines by 87% through the use of buoyancy control via the chemical reaction of Sodium Azide and Potassium Nitrate. On the other hand, Team TechGuys ended up 4th in the IACR Competition with their robot designed for Line Following. In addition, Team Robotech got to present before the judges their innovative fighting robot with a 12-inch cutter made from a high-strength steel alloy and powered by an ESP8266 module for wireless communication.
NMIMS STME Indore, a constituent unit of SVKM’s NMIMS Mumbai, offers a wide range of advanced programmes in robotics, automation, artificial intelligence, and other emerging fields. The institute also encourages students to participate in national and international competitions, making them hone their skills and gain hands-on experience.
The School of Business Management at NMIMS Mumbai has released the placement report 2023 for MBA Core and MBA HR on its official website. Earlier, the school announced the successful completion of its final placement process for MBA Core and MBA HR for the current year. As per the report, the SBM has achieved new heights in terms of placements this year with over 175 recruiters participating in the NMIMS Mumbai placement process 2023.
A total of 148 new and loyal recruiters participated in the placements to recruit the MBA Core students while the total number of recruiters for MBA Core was 51. MBA Core students witnessed the highest package of Rs 67.80 lakh per annum. On the other hand, the highest package for MBA stood at Rs 25.95 lakh per annum. The average package offered was Rs Rs 26.63 lakh per annum and Rs 19.56 lakh per annum for MBA Core and MBA HR, respectively. Moreover, one-third of the MBA Core and MBA HR batches were placed through PPOs.
The SBM has also published the summer placement report for this year along with the final placement report. The highest stipend offered to the MBA Core students was Rs 4 lakh, whereas MBA HR students were offered the highest stipend of Rs 3 lakh. Some of the major recruiters who visited the campus during this placement season were Aditya Birla Capital, American Express, Adani, Barclays, Bosch, Parimal, Goldman Sachs, and many others.
Students from the NMIMS School of Design have left their mark on the world of design by winning several prestigious awards and competitions. NMIMS Mumbai’s B.Des Humanising Technology students from batches 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 bagged multiple awards in various design categories. These categories include game design, waste disposal intervention, teaching regional languages using non-linguistic cues, and many others.
Ms. Nikita Bhatnagar and Ms. Akshata Chitnis won the D’Source-DIC, BHU SDGs Design Challenge (DDSDC) conducted by IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay. On the other hand, Ms. Niharika Trikha presented a project titled Vikram-Betal Pachisi and also bagged the Drona Design Award 2022- Distinguished Design Award in Game Design (UX). Last year, Mr. Priyansh Singara became the 2nd runner-up at Hero CoLabs App Challenge 2.0 organised by Hero MotoCorp Limited.
Neha Joglekar, a third-year student at NMIMS Mumbai, received the Best Intern Award from her NGO Idea Foundation. Ms. Aslesha Ram Gunjal participated in the Fiesta Art International Online Art Competition and Exhibition 2022 organised by the Bindaas Artist Group. Further, Ms. Kashish Parmar and Ms. Sakshi Shirsekar, two fourth-year students, participated in CII Young Designers Awards 2022 and became the winners in the Product Design category for their project titled Chew and Chom.

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Deemed-to-be University, popularly known as NMIMS Mumbai, signed an MoU with the University of Adelaide on March 24, 2023. This MoU between two globally knowledgeable institutions was signed to develop and nurture a framework for collaboration to benefit their research and teaching efforts. It is further aimed to internationalise both institutions. The occasion was marked by one-on-one meetings over tea and discussions over academic collaborations in the short, medium, and long terms.
As per the MoU, it will facilitate processes such as the exchange of students and academic staff along with the exchange of publications, academic materials and other information between NMIMS Mumbai and the University of Adelaide. SVKM’s NMIMS, Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics, introduces a new dual degree programme in collaboration with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). This programme offers a Master of Science (Economics) of two years, with one year at NMIMS and the next year at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, USA.
This dual degree programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of various fields of economics. The curriculum focuses on experiential and skill-based learning designed. Students will also have the opportunity to pursue a PhD at Virginia Tech or other institutions in the US and elsewhere.
After completing the dual degree programme, students will receive an M.Sc in Economics degree from NMIMS and an MA in Economics from Virginia Tech. The students will be selected based on an admission test and personal interview conducted by NMIMS Mumbai & VT. At NMIMS, students are required to complete all first-year courses in both semesters with a minimum grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0.

A patent for OCUSERT, a brand-new ocular formulation for the treatment of glaucoma, has been granted to Dr Bala Prabhakar, Dean of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Mumbai, Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM), along with other inventors according to a press release from the institute.

The NMIMS Navi Mumbai campus recently organised the third edition of the popular music festival - Requiem 3.0 - on January 12 - January 14, 2023. The event was sponsored by TradeBook. It was a three-day event with an aim to celebrate music and its power that brings people together. The mega event featured a variety of music competitions, including Bollywood Solo, Classical Solo, Western Solo, Underground Rap, and Power of Instruments. The event received the participation of more than 500 students from 29 colleges across the country.
The inauguration ceremony of the event included a grand banner drop and a Pooja. The event also featured a star-studded night with well-known musicians in the industry, a guest artist concert, and a DJ night across the three days. On Star Night, Jannat and Crook fame Bollywood playback singer Nikhil D’Souza performed along with upcoming artists Vaani Bhasin and Anish Chhabra. This particular event was hosted by GD Sayal, an accomplished performer and a seasoned host.

Students will be selected on the basis of NMIMS LAT 2023 results and performance in previous class. Thereafter, a merit list will be prepared which will be published on the website.

Pharm + MBA (Pharma Tech) requires 45% marks in PCB or PCM in Class 12 or equivalent examination. National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) candidates are not eligible for B. Pharm + MBA (Pharma Tech) programme.

The Department of Psychology at SVKM’s NMIMS Sunandan Divatia School of Science (SDSOS) organised a one-day multi-therapeutic event to improve mental health at the NMIMS Mumbai campus on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on October 10.
The chief guests on this occasion were Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro-Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, Dr. Purvi Bhatt, HOD, Biological Sciences, and RJ Yamini Sharma, from 93.5 Red FM, Bajate Raho! along with the core faculties of SDSOS at NMIMS Mumbai.
The main attraction of the programme was a number of diverse stalls providing delectable dishes to deft DIYs to help alleviate stress. These stalls were designed based on research, keeping in mind how each item can contribute to an individual’s well-being. Students improved their mood with motivational and positive content written on a board. A stall for face painting was also put up for the students. A Nukkad Naatak was also presented to spread awareness about ‘Peer Pressure’.
On December 23, 2022, on the occasion of National Farmer’s Day, the NMIMS School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST) organised a Scientist-Farmer Interface at Balde village, Shirpur, Taluka, Dhule district, Maharashtra.
