The Department of Training and Placement arranges for on the job Practical Training and Placement services to the students of Engineering and Management. Practical Training is arranged in private/public manufacturing industries, Government Engineering Departments, Engineering Consultancy Organizations, Information Technology firms, R & D Organization and other institutions, which provide real-life exposure to products and services. The Department also arranges campus interviews conducted by private and government organization. In addition, the Department organizes awareness lectures for ICS, IES and other competitive examinations, higher studies Entrepreneurship and direct jobs.

The Training & Placement Department at Engineering College, Kota was started in the year 1981 along with inception of the College. (New name is University College of Engineering, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota).

The college has a well-established department of Training and Placement which has developed linkages with various leading industries, private and public sector companies, and other institutions to facilitate and assist students in getting proper training and placement. The department acts as a liaison between prospective employers and students seeking employment. It conducts campus interviews, placement talks and extension lectures from time to time. About 34.83% of our students are able to get placed through campus interviews by leading firms in the current year 2013-14.

The department has faculty members and subordinate staff members. The faculty is highly qualified and is among the best in Rajasthan State. The faculty has attended a number of seminars, extension lectures, Group Discussions at a national level in reputed conferences. Some of the faculty members have also visited to different-different companies/organization or to received knowledge of about training and placement activities. The department has also organized Seminars/training extension lecturers/Group Discussion programs for students.The supporting staff in the department is very cooperative in extending every possible support to visiting teams of various companies coming for campus interview and maintains the facilities that are ready round the clock for the campus placement activities.

According to the course curriculum, undergraduate students of all engineering programs are required to take up Practical Training for a period of 30 working days respectively Engineering students take practical training in one spell of 30 days during summer vacation after their III year (6th Sem.) examinations. Students submit detailed training reports and a Board of Examiners having one external examiner from industry examines them through a viva-voce examination. Practical Training has been extremely useful to students in providing them exposure to real life industrial work culture and hands-on experience of applications of classroom knowledge. Students have greatly benefited by practical training as reflected in their confidence during placement interviews conducted by industry people.
