The training and placement cell at GIET University was formed to aid the students in their careers and help them build successful careers in their respective fields. The Placement cell at GIET basically has three main objectives- Training, providing placements, and associating with the Alumni. All three objectives are interlinked to one another, and the placement cell works actively to give students the best platforms to launch their careers.

GIETU has more than 100 companies that visit the Campus during placement drives. The recruiters are also categorized into public sector Undertakings (PSU), Core Engineering Industries, IT and IT-enabled services, consultancy firms, and banking. The students have full liberty to make their own choices. Companies like NASA, Boeing, Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys, CTS, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Mindtree, Hexaware, Cavesson, Huawei, Milliman, Honeywell, HCL, Hindustan Motors, Piaggio, JK Paper Mills, Sterlite group, My Home Construction, Samsung, etc. have come to the University in the past.

The placement cell trains the students with the help of the placement team as well as faculty members and alumni members in different fields. They want to ensure optimum opportunities for the graduates who pass out of GIETU.

Under the aegis of the placement cell at GIET University – the students receive counseling, guidance, and training to appear for the interviews and perform to the best of their abilities. Apart from training the students, they are also responsible for keeping the records of the students, keeping track of the visiting companies, organizing placement interviews. The Placement Cell has a specific course of action that every student needs to follow while they are registered with the placement cell. The cell provides training in the following areas- Business English Communication, Oracle, Java, .Net, Python, AI, Data Science, GRE, TOEFL, etc. They help in personality development and grooming for the interview. They are also sent for summer internships, industry training, and visits to prepare them for the professional world.

The placement training begins from the first year of the course; here is a detailed list of the training program-

Second Year- Business English Communication (BEC Vantage), Accent Training, Oracle (SQL/ PL SQL), Python, JAVA, .NET, Industry Visit

After the commencement of the recruitment interviews, everything will be handled by the placement cell- the communication with the companies, the dates, schedules, and the list. The placement cell will be notified of the offers, and it is through them, the students will accept the offer; after that, the placement cell will make sure the student joins the company on the stipulated date. In this manner, the placement cell handles all the responsibilities of placements in the University.

With the help of the esteemed faculty members, the Placement cell arranged for summer internship programs for the students. These internships are aimed at getting the students some exposure and a chance to experience industries closely. They get to go for industrial visits as well.
