IIM Amritsar has completed the final placement process for the PGP batch 2017-19. Compared to the previous year, the placements at IIM Amritsar witnessed a surge. Last year, the highest salary offered was Rs. 17 lakh per annum, while the highest salary offered for 2017-19 batch has been increased to Rs. 21 lakh per annum. The median salary offered this year was Rs. 12 lakh per annum. On the other hand, the average salary offered to the students of IIM Amritsar at 2017-19 PGP placements was Rs. 12.2 lakh per annum. Compared to the previous year, both median and average salary witnessed a surge.

Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar or more commonly known as IIM-Amritsar successfully placed all the 44 students of its first batch. Despite demonetization challenge, IIM Amritsar students bagged attractive offers from various companies.
Even though there was an economically stress throughout the country. Still, companies visited IIM Amritsar and hired talented students for their respective firms. The institute took all the necessary step in order to complete place all of its 44 students batch.

56 companies responded to the request made by the institute and visited the campus to hire the students.

the top recruiter was ARKA, a Chennai-based company. Seven students bagged attractive offers in this company. ICICI Lombard and Ayur Power were the second largest recruiters. 3 students each bagged job offers from these companies. No International offers were made to the first batch, All students of the first batch secured jobs in India.
Living up to its reputation IIM Amritsar records 100% placement at its summer placement for 2017. Ernst & Young was the biggest recruiter at the institute. Companies like ICICI Lombard, Shopclues, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, EXIM Bank, SBI, Adani, PayU, DHFL Pramerica, IFFCO, RBI, Tega, Canara Bank and Choco-Swiss were also among the top recruiters at the placement drive.
The batch of 2017 was the largest batch since the college started functioning in 2015. 51 companies participated in the placement process. An increase of 49.64% in the average stipend offered one of the high points of the placement process.
