COVID-19 brought about its own set of challenges in the education sector. When SHEAT realized that they would have to deal with the impact of the health crisis for a long time, they formed a COVID-19 task force and found a flexible approach to the problem. The task force included members from the administration, faculty, and student union representatives. It focused on how to manage the day-to-day operations and scenario planning while looking ahead to the long-term impact. The faculty made themselves present at the institute regularly and conducted online classes, to give a classroom-like feel to the students.

The students and faculty were quick to adapt to the new normal and switch to online education. Training and Placement Cell 

The mission of the Training & Placement Cell at SHEAT College of Engineering & Management, Varanasi is to provide students a platform for exercising their potential to gain precious experience by working in the industry. It works as an interface between organizations seeking talented and Young Graduate & Post-Graduate engineers and managers of different disciplines. Special training on logical & aptitude development, personality development, life skills, and technical conceptual knowledge are provided to make the students employable in private, government, and PSU sectors. In addition, the Training & Placement Cell of SHEAT College of Engineering & Management, Varanasi also arranges expert talks from Industry Managers having expertise in both the Technical and Human Resource domain. Various workshops and seminars are organized during different semesters for the students to make them aware of the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Placements Aims and Objectives:

• Assist students in developing their academic & career interests.

SHEAT Placement Process

The Placement Cell at SHEAT College of Engineering & Management, Varanasi acts as a dedicated interface for the students and the industry for seamless integration of all necessary knowledge transfer and coordination. For the students, it helps in creating the necessary awareness regarding employment opportunities, pitching themselves as per industry expectations, and in their capacity-building for value-addition to the corporate. For the industry, it provides a platform from where recruiters can identify talent as per their requirements.

• A company is encouraged to conduct a pre-placement talk [PPT] to highlight available job profiles, career growth opportunities, and compensation details.
• After the PPT, interested students would register themselves for the selection process.
• The company can conduct this process (GD/Case Study/Written Test/Personal Interview! for interested students on the same day.
• In case the company cannot visit the campus for the PPT, recruiters are requested to forward a softcopy of their PPT which would be shared with students. CVs of interested students (who register after going through PPT) would be forwarded to the company. The company can then conduct its selection process IGD/Personal Interview) through videoconferencing. 
• The companies are invited to the campus for conducting their selection process, from the month of September onwards.

Pre- Placement Talk: 

The Pre-Placement Talk/Company Presentation is an opportunity for the students and the organization to interact with each other, and to clearly understand the job requirements, company expectations, and job profile offered. The organization is requested to give a pre-placement talk covering the following aspects:

1. Overview of the Company and its Operations

2. Detailed Job Description.

3. Skill set required in a Candidate.

4. Compensation Package offered. 

5. Nature & period of Training/probation, if any.

6. Selection procedure to be adopted (generally comprises of Written Test /Group Discussion/Technical Interview/Personal Interview).

SHEAT Group of Institutions Placement Final Recruitment: 

After following the selection procedure, the corporate selects the students and an offer letter is given to the students with a joining date.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Placements Communication Process:

Students will be kept apprised about any Training & Placement related activities through the following process:

1. Through Notices.

2. Through E-mail IDs provided to the Placement Cell.

3. Through WhatsApp alerts.

4. Through Departments.

Important Instructions for Students for SHEAT Group of Institutions Placements:

1. Students must keep a regular/frequent check with Notice Boards /Class Co-ordinators/E-mails/WhatsApp.

2. Students' emails and WhatsApp alerts are subject to the e-mail IDs and mobile numbers provided to the Training & Placement Cell by the students.

3. Students are expected to inform the Training & Placement Cell about any change in mobile numbers and their email IDs for smooth communication.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Placements Guidelines:

• Transparency, fairness and equal opportunity for all is the hallmark of the placement process at the SHEAT Group of Institutions.
• Notice regarding the Job Profile & Date of Interview will be shared Through Notice Board/Through Email/Through WhatsApp. Students who are interested and fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the company are expected to give their names to the Training & Placement Cell.
• The name once submitted to the Placement Cell for the selection process, will be considered final. Withdrawal and/or absence will lead to expulsion from further campus placement drives.
• Candidates getting Job offers on their own are expected to inform and submit their Offer Letters to the SHEAT Placement Cell.
• Students appearing for the campus placements drive should be in formal attire and should maintain dignity and conduct. Failing to do so may result in expulsion from the placement drive.

Employability Enhancement Programme (EEP)

The objective of this training program is to make students ready for the campus placement program by enhancing and polishing their technical and soft skills. This training is focused on the following areas:
