Job Fair at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET)

This job fair was organised in two sessions where one session was held at the Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology and the other was held at Uttarakhand Open University itself. Students from all undergraduate and postgraduate streams were eligible to participate in this fair. The top recruiters who visited the fair included Policybazaar.com, Genpact, and Reliable First among others. 

Online Placement Drive for Tourism and Hospitality Courses

The university also conducted an online placement session for Tourism, Hospitality, and Hotel Management students. The recruiting agency for this session was Amritara Hotels and Resorts Pvt. Ltd. 

Campus Placement Drive

This was another fair as part of the placement of Uttarakhand Open University. It was conducted by the placement cell in collaboration with BK Castles and Hotels Pvt. Ltd. Maximum recruitments were done from the Tourism, Hospitality and Hotel Management courses.

The UOU placement process is conducted in three phases, the details for which are given below:

Phase 1

• The invitation, containing the required information is sent to the companies/organisations through email/post.
• Companies/organisation sends it back to the Placement and Internship Cell of UOU Haldwani via email. 
• It is highly desirable that the job annexure is completed in all respects as it forms the primary basis of communicating the job profile being offered to the candidates.
• The details of the annexure are made available to the students on UOU Placement Online.
• Suitable dates for Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) from here on are decided after
• discussions between the company and the UOU Placement Cell.
• After confirmation from the company, students are notified of the PPT date.
• The company visits the campus or connects in online mode and conducts its PPT.
• The company might also, conduct selections for summer internships of the pre-final year students on the same day as it's a general procedure followed by companies.

Phase 2

• The placement cell allots a date to the company.
• The company can confirm or negotiate the dates with the placement office.
• Interested students sign their willingness or fill online form for the company online.
• Resumes of interested students are provided to the companies for the purpose of shortlisting (if required).
• The shortlisted students' list is mailed to the Training and Placement Office prior to the campus selection date.

Phase 3

• Companies visit the campus on the provided date and conduct the written technical/aptitude test, and group discussion/personal interview as a part of the selection process.
• It should be noted that the facility of video conferencing at the campus can be availed for the interviewing purpose of candidates in case the company is unable to visit the campus, physically.
• The company/organisation has to furnish the final list of selected students as soon as possible after the completion of the process. 
• According to the institute's placement policy, the chosen students may or may not be permitted to participate in additional job interviews.
