Wright State University was founded in 1964 as a branch campus of Ohio State University and Miami University. It received university status in 1967 after approval from the Ohio General Assembly. WSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a governing body that accredits degree-granting postsecondary educational institutions in Ohio and the engineering degree programmes offered at WSU is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Several other programmes like psychology, computer science, engineering and health and nursing are also recognised globally and ranked among the top courses offered at the university. The business school of Wright State University is named the Best Business School by the Princeton Review in 2021.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Located in Dayton, Ohio, Wright State University has a beautiful campus that extends over an area of 557 acres. The university also has a branch campus - Wright State University - Lake Campus in Celina, Ohio. It includes state-of-the-art infrastructure, 32 academic and support buildings, 33 student residential buildings, an athletics venue and a world-class entertainment venue surrounded by lush trees and bio-reserves. Degree programmes at WSU are offered across five colleges and two schools. In total, the university offers around  315 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programmes in the fields of computer science and engineering, health, education and human services, liberal arts, science and mathematics.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Wright State University is named after the Wright brothers and is known to offer an exceptional and affordable education to students from around the world. So far, the university has granted more than 130,000 degrees. The Alumni  of WSU are recognised for numerous accomplishments in a wide spectrum of fields. Some of the notable WSU alumni include disability rights activist Javed Abidi, founder of Institute for Science and International Security David Albright, astronaut Michael R. Barratt, author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, to name a few. The  Wright State University Alumni Association is another great way to associate with fellow alumni who help each other achieve their career goals and enhance their personalities.
