University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Formerly, Rayat & Bahra Institute of Pharmacy, estd 2006) came into existence in 2014 for B. Pharm. Course. Presently, the School is offering courses like B. Pharm, M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics & Pharmacology) and PhD (Pharmaceutical Sciences).The School's vision is to impart professional education in Pharmaceutical Sciences and emerge as a leading centre for research on drugs and pharmaceuticals. Society has need and expectations from pharmacy professionals and for pharmaceutical care. This needs dictates that our primary mission be the instruction of pharmacy students to produce excellent pharmacists.We recognize a profession must innovate and experiment to advance. There is a need to continually improve health care and this is achieved through research, discovering new medicines, understanding diseases, and creating new models of health care. Finally the health professionals have their foundations in service to society. Our school is providing service to maintain relevance and provide the best training environment for students. The School regularly arranges student visits to pharmacy and allied industries and herbal gardens. Students are placed for training into reputed pharmacy concerns so that they can learn the technical skills in real-life scenario and to reduce the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a pharmacist to keep pace with expectations of the pharmaceutical industry.The School has all class room and lab infrastructure required for running Pharmacy courses. Highly qualified and dedicated teachers take care of academic needs of the students and also mentor them for growth within pharmacy profession. Students regularly attend industrial visits, industrial training and seminars / workshops. School has a well-maintained library housing printed books, journals, multimedia teaching kits, online e-library and e-journal facilities. Sixth batch of B. Pharm and fourth batch of M.Pharm is passing out in May, 2015 All passing out UG and PG students were placed in national and multinational pharmaceutical industries with good salary package.
27 students of RBU were placed in a placement drive held by Zensar in the month of Sept 2014. Package of Rs 3 lakh was offered to the students. The dedicated placement cell regularly conducts grooming sessions of the students in areas like soft skills, interview facing skills, behavioral skills hereby making them industry-fit. In the recent years the college has witnessed some well known recruitment companies walking-in and being invited for campus placements.
