MCKV Institute of Engineering Scholarships 2024 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

MCKVIE scholarships are disbursed to meritorious and needy students on the basis of their merit and means. The scholarship schemes availble at MCKVIE are categorized under the following- 

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

• The Govt. of West Bengal introduces this scheme of scholarship at different levels of higher studies, at educational institutions based in West Bengal. Aspirants of UG(Engg.) with 60% in Class 12, PG (Engg.) with 55% marks in graduation, and other AICTE approved Professional Courses like MBA can avail this.
• Scholarship amount available per month is Rs 5000.
•  Annual family income should be within 2.5 Lakhs per annum.

Aikyashree

• Merit Cum Means: This is for meritorious minority (Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Muslim, Parsee and Sikh) students from the domicile of West Bengal to study in an institute in West Bengal.
• Students with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam are eligible to apply.
• Annual family income should be within 2.5 Lakhs per annum.

Kanyashree

Kanyashree’s one-time grant of Rs  25,000 is for girls who are between the ages of 18 and 19. Both the annual scholarship and the one-time grant are only for those girls who are:

• Residents of West Bengal 
• Enrolled and regularly attended an educational institution 
• Unmarried students
• From families where the total income is not more than Rs 1,20,000 per year.

However, girls who are specially-abled (with a disability of 40% or more), living in a Home registered under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2000, or have lost both parents may apply for Kanyashree even if their family’s income is more than Rs 1,20,000 per year.

National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 

Different Scholarship Schemes are available from various ministries and departments of the Central Govt. Also, different schemes are available from UGC/AICTE. 

DWO 

This is availed from the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Govt. of WB. Scholarship for the children of those engaged in unclean occupation. One can fill out the online application to avail of the benefits of the scholarship. 

e-Kalyan, Jharkhand

• Schemes offered by Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class Welfare Department, Govt. of Jharkhand.

AICTE – PRAGATI

• This is a scholarship scheme by AICTE towards degree and diploma education for girl students.
• Amount of scholarship: Tuition fee of Rs 30,000 or at actual, whichever is less, and Rs 2000 per month for 10 months as incidentals charges each year. In case of Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, Students are eligible to get an amount of Rs 30,000 for the purchase of Books / Equipment / Software / Laptop / Desktop / Vehicle / Fee paid towards competitive examination applications forms/exam.  

AICTE – Saksham

• This is a scholarship scheme by AICTE towards degree and diploma education for specially abled students.
• Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs 30,000 or at actual, whichever is less, and Rs 2000 per month for 10 months as incidentals charges each year.
• In case of Tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, Students are eligible to get an amount of Rs 30,000 for the purchase of Books / Equipment / Software / Laptop / Desktop / Vehicle / Fee paid towards competitive examination applications forms/exam / specific equipment/software for visually impaired/ speech and hearing disabled.

AICTE Swanath Scholarship 

1) The candidate should be from any one of the following categories: (i) Orphan (ii) Either or both parents died due to Covid-19 (iii) Wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed)

2) Family income from all sources should not be more than Rs 8 Lakh per annum during the financial year of the application. A valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government is to be enclosed. 3) The candidate should be currently studying in the AICTE Approved institutions and courses at the Degree/ Diploma level in regular mode. There are two types of scholarship under AICTE Swanath Scholarship which are as follows :

• AICTE–SWANATH scholarship scheme (technical diploma)
• AICTE–SWANATH scholarship scheme (technical degree)

MCKVIE has a special scholarship scheme which includes-

• No admission Fee for Girl students.
• Admission incentives upto 20,000 WBJEE Rank holders and 1000 JECA Rank holders.
• Special Scholarship on the basis of Result at 12th standard.
