NIT Sikkim Scholarships

Scholarships work as a token of appreciation to those who get awarded for their excellence in academics and a helpful gesture to those who get to further their education by getting the scholarship as financial aid. Either way, it is an excellent scheme to promote education. NIT Sikkim awards scholarships to the deserving and meritorious students of the institute. Some of the scholarships are:

Chinese Government Scholarship: 

Eligibility: 

  • For a scholarship to undergraduate programmes, candidates must be high school graduates under the age of 25.
  • Applications of candidates who are abroad will not be considered.
  • For masters degree, applicants must be bachelor’s degree-holders under the age of 35.
  • Candidates must be having 60% mark in the required qualification. 
  • For Doctoral programmes, applicants must be master’s degree-holders under the age of 40.

How to Apply:

  • Applicants are also required to apply online simultaneously through the official website of the China Scholarship Council.
  • Applicants have to apply online through the official portal of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Rajarshi Shaju Maharaj Merit Scholarship:

Eligibility

  • Students should belong to the scheduled caste.
  • Applicants must be studying in reputed institutions scheduled by the state. 
  • Annual family income of the family of the applicant should be less than 4.50 lakhs.
  • She/he should be a resident of Maharashtra.

Value:

  • Selected candidates are also awarded ?10,000 per annum for notebooks, books and other educational instruments. 
  • The awardee students are given full tuition fee including hostel and mess charges prescribed by the institution.

Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access (FAEA)

FAEA invites application for scholarships for the year 2014-2015 to pursue undergraduate studies in arts/commerce/science/medical/engineering and other technical and professional disciplines at any university/institution/college in India. Number of scholarships: -

50 Eligibility Criteria:

  •  Students belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections in the BPL category
  •  Students who have passed Class XII from a recognized board in India
  •  1st year under-graduate students. Financial Support: Tuition fee, maintenance allowance or hostel and mess charges as per our norms.

How to apply

  •   You may apply online at www.faeaindia.org (most preferred way)
  •  The form can be downloaded from FAEA website and submitted by post at the address of the foundation mentioned at the top. ? Last date to apply: 30th June 2014 All category (Gen / SC / ST / OBC) students of NIT Sikkim belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) class are encouraged to apply

Scholarship for Students with disabillities for Studing abroad

The undersigned is directed to say that with the approval of the competent authority Department of Disability Affairs has decided to introduce a new Central Sector Plan Scheme titled as “National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities” in order to provide financial assistance to students with disabilities for pursuing higher education abroad. Dear Student, You can get admission at NIT Sikkim if you have completed the Class 12 examination or you are appearing for the same. For NIT Sikkim B.Tech admission you must qualify Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as a compulsory subjects. There is no minimum percentage specified by the institute but you must qualify JEE Mains to get admission into the institute.
