UPES Dehradun Scholarships 2024 - Details, Eligibility, Amount

UPES Dehradun offers various scholarships to meritorious and deserving students. The information about the scholarships is mentioned below. 

Exclusive Scholarship for All-Girl Students

Under this, 25% Scholarship on tuition fees will be given to all  the girls taking admission in any of the UG or PG courses for 2020

• This scholarship is applicable for the full duration of the program
• Renewal of this scholarship is on a yearly basis
•  Minimum attendance in the previous year should not be less than 75%
• The student should not have any disciplinary case/action

B.Tech Scholarship

3 scholarships are offered for B.Tech

1. Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers:

The eligibility criteria for this state that the seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students. Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate). Students will be entitled only to 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through the Uttarakhand Resident category).  UPES Dehradun scholarships in subsequent years will be as per the merit scholarship policy of the University.

The scholarship amount is 25% of the tuition fee waiver is for boys and 35% is for the girls students in the first year.

2. Merit-Based Scholarship 

This scholarship is for those who get an aggregate of 80& in classes 10 and 12th, and 80% in PCM for B.Tech (all streams) in ICSE/CBSE/State Examination Board. Such scholarships will be limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech Program. Scholarships will be given for the first semester in merit order to eligible candidates.

The scholarship amount is 50% tuition fee waiver in the first semester.

3. Special Scholarship

LLB Scholarship

 3 scholarships are offered to LLB students and they are as follows

1. Merit-Based Scholarship

• The eligibility criteria for this is 75% marks in class X & XII. 
• There is 50% tuition fee waiver on 10% seats of each program in the first Semester for CBSE, ICSE & State board pass out students

2. Uttarakhand State Board Toppers Scholarships in LLB Program

The eligibility criteria for this are as follows:

• Minimum 80% marks in X, XII class and PCM for B.Tech and 80% aggregate for BBA and Law in Class X & XII in UK State Board.
• Merit order allotment of 1 seat per program.
• 150 toppers from UK State Board
• The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Resident students.
• Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate)
• Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category)
• Scholarship in subsequent years will be as per merit scholarship policy of the University

3. Special Scholarship

BBA Scholarship

2 scholarships are offered for BBA

1. Merit-Based scholarship

Under this, 50% of the tuition fee waiver is there on 10% seats of each program in the first semester for CBSE, ICSE & State board pass out students.

As per the eligibility criteria for this scholarship, 75% marks are required in class 10th and 12th

2. Uttarakhand State Board Toppers Scholarships for BBA Programs

As per the eligibility criteria for this,

• Minimum 80% aggregate is required in Class 10th & 12th in UK State Board
• 150 toppers from UK State Board
• Merit order allotment of 1 seat per program.
• The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Domicile students.
• Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate)
• Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Domicile category)

The scholarship amount for this is 25% of the tuition fee waiver for boys and 35% for the girl students in the first year. Scholarship in subsequent years will be as per merit scholarship policy of the University.

MBA Scholarship

For MBA scholarships, students need to meet the following eligibility criteria

• 10% seats in each program for 25% tuition fee waiver in 1st semester
• Minimum 80 percentile score in CAT/XAT
• 10% seats in each program for 25% tuition fee waiver in 1st semester

Scholarship for Other Programs

The eligibility criteria and scholarship amount for all the other programs are specified below

Fellowship for M.Tech Students 

2 types of scholarships are there for M.Tech students 

1. GATE Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who score 70 percentile and above in GATE. The amount is Rs.12,400 per month. To be eligible for continuing the scholarship in subsequent semesters, the students are required to have a minimum SGPA / CGPA of 8.0 in each semester and passed every semester exam in the first attempt besides maintaining regular attendance, discipline, exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms as stated by the university.

2. Research Grant

All the students will be eligible for a grant up to Rs.50,000 towards outcome-based research as per the rules and regulations framed by the university.
