St. Joseph's Institute of Management (formerly known as SJCBA) was established in 1968, and is situated in the heart of metropolitan city Bangalore. The campus through its greenery silences the hustle and bustle of the city. In 1996 SJIM secured approval from AICTE, New Delhi, for a Two Year Full Time PGDM programme. In 2007, SJIM received AICTE approval to enhance the intake from 60 to 120 students. In 2007 SJIM secured approval from the AICTE for offering the Executive PGDM and PGCM programs. The first batch of Executive PGDM and PGCM were launched in 2007. In 2016 the institute was shifted to a new campus with state-of-the-art facilities located off MG Road, Bangalore. SJIM prides of a student profile with diverse educational background and corporate exposure. The institute also takes pride in placing students in premier companies year after year.

The crowning factor is Placements. The college has acquired excellent reputation in the corporate circles for the quality of our students. The placement cell at SJIM has grown along with the institute from placing the students in premier companies which participate in campus placements year-on-year offering excellent career opportunities. The college has a distinction of placing students in leading companies for the last twenty years. 

Over 45-50 companies visit us for campus hiring and the number of organizations and the compensation has consistently increased over the years. Our highest compensation has been 12 Lakhs per Annum. At least 70% of the companies who visit have recruited from us in the past which talks about the quality of our students and every year there are about 25% new organizations. 

In order to groom our students to be corporate ready, the placement cell provides in-house training programs which are designed to sharpen basic business acumen and improve general knowledge. The following are few inputs of the training program:
