Bachelor of Arts in Bengali or B.A Bengali is a three-year undergraduate programme, which deals comprehensively with Bangla Literature and Language. B. A Bengali, in short, is the study of Bengali Literature, poetry and grammar. Bengali or Bangla is a language, which is predominantly spoken in the eastern parts of the Indian Union like West Bengal, Assam, Tripura etc and in the neighbouring country of Bangladesh.

Students who have passed their 10+2 examination from a recognised Board are eligible for admission into the B.A Bengali programme. Some Institutes, however, require the B.A Bengali applicants to have studied Bengali at the qualifying exam level to be eligible for admission.
Admission into the B.A Bengali programme is both a merit-based and entrance test-based process. Some institutes/colleges conduct an entrance exam followed by a personal interview round to determine the suitability of the candidates in joining the B.A Bengali programme. Institutes offering direct admission into the B.A Bengali programme consider the 10+2 exam scores of the applicants for admission.
The course fee of B.A Bengali differs from institute to institute. The B.A Bengali course fee also depends on the fact that the Institution is Government-aided or un-aided. On average, the candidates have to shell out something between INR 1 lakh and 1.5 lakhs in total to pursue B.A Bengali from a recognised institution or college. In private institutions, this fee can be much higher.
