The undergraduate program at LPU focuses on a broad exposure to the liberal arts with a choice of three areas of social sciences, skill development courses, and required foundation and advanced English communication, project and EVS courses. eligibility is a grade 12 pass. You may receive a stipend of up to 55 percent of the program fee through LPUNEST. Study abroad is also available for the program. All courses offered by the LPU are good.The BA course at the LPU offers these subjects from which you can select your desired subjects. total combination of three compartments. Students choose two majors in the first semester and one minor (GE) in the second semester. the following areas: history Political Science Psychology geography Sociology Public Administration mathematics computer application Trade All (Business, Journalism, Sports) Any One Hindi Punjabi, English) Required Courses: EVS, Basic English Communication (Term I), Advanced English Communication (Term-II) The program has an industrial interface partnerships with industry content delivered by industry experts projects in collaboration with industry internships to deal intensively with practical real-life situations Undergraduate Research – A student may use an undergraduate research option to go beyond the obvious. Mass Communication is a medium of dispersing information to a large number of people. The term Mass Communication is not limited to only Journalism but spreads its branches to various other media fields including newsgathering and reporting, film direction and production, event management, public relations, advertising, corporate communication, and the list continues. Journalism, advertising, and print media are the major examples of mass communication. There are two kinds of courses available for aspiring students in mass communication, an undergraduate degree and a postgraduate degree. The undergraduate degree is Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (BA Mass Comm.) and the postgraduate degree in Master of Arts in Mass Communication (MA Mass Comm.) Mass communication has a great scope and is a great way for students to start their careers. Mass communication opens up multiple avenues for a student as it allows students to take up very diverse jobs. After doing a BA in Mass Communication, the student can explore these job opportunities such as photography, news editing, journalism or radio jockeying. He or she could even go for higher education and pursue a Masters in this field. Completing the master’s degree improves the employability of the student and opens up job opportunities at higher positions. B.A Journalism and mass communication at LPU is designed to expose students to all dimensions of Print, Electronic and New Age Media. Focus on enhancing technical skills of reporting, news design software, video editing, photography etc. which necessary in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. The eligibility of the said course is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent. Journalism and Mass Communication Department was started with the intent to foster creativity, technology and research orientation in the field of mass communication. Programmes in the School of Journalism are well in sync with evolving mass media trends.
