BSc Syllabus and Subject Overview

The BSc syllabus combines general and specialty-based topics. The subjects vary according to the field of study or specialisation. BSc degree combines theory and practice, with a focus on experimentation and research. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) syllabus is divided into six semesters. To pass a semester, you must pass both the theory and practical exams. Given the diverse range of BSc subjects available, colleges are unable to offer all specialisations. A college's BSc courses typically include 5-6 subjects. Two core papers, one generic elective, and one compulsory subject make up the first year of BSc subjects.

The BSc course syllabus includes courses in Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Statistics, Psychology, Nutrition, Forestry, Computer Science, Home Science, Microbiology, Genetics, Agriculture, and others. The BSc course syllabus is designed to provide a solid foundation in science-related subjects. The BSc syllabus covers fundamental physiology as well as modern life mechanisms. The majority of the Bachelor of Science syllabus includes laboratory and research projects to help students gain a more comprehensive and global perspective. The Bachelor of Science syllabus and subject include both theories and practices, with an emphasis on experimentation and research.

The number of BSc subjects rises with technological advancement. Many medical-related courses are also available under BSc, such as BSc Optometry, BSc Cardiology, BSc Radiology, BSc Anaesthesia, BSc Microbiology, and so on. Most of the subjects that are covered in the BSc Syllabus are maths, forestry, computer science, microbiology, genetics, statistics, physics, chemistry, botany, psychology, nutrition, and forestry. Research and experimentation are the primary sections of a BSc degree, which combines theories and practices.   

To be eligible for a BSc admission 2024, candidates must have completed Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB/M (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics) courses. Scores from popular entrance exams such as CUET, ICAR AIEEA, JEE Main, CG PAT, MHT CET, KCET, and others are accepted for admission to BSc programmes. After BSc, you can either pursue a master's degree or begin working. You can pursue various BSc Jobs/career opportunities depending on your BSc subjects, including those as a Research Scientist, Clinical Research Specialist, Lab Technician, Assistant Professor/Lecturer, Biotechnologist, Journalist, Attorney, and more. Graduates can expect to earn BSc Salary ranges between INR 3.80 – INR 8 LPA.
