How to Prepare for AIIMS MBBS 2019

AIIMS MBBS 2019 is one of the most important entrance exams for medical aspirants seeking admission in the prestigious AIIMS. Therefore, having a good preparation strategy to crack AIIMS MBBS 2019 is extremely important. Candidates should have an idea about the exam pattern, syllabus and then select some of the best books and study material to prepare thoroughly for the exam.  

Candidates need to follow a proper revision strategy and it should be done on a regular basis. They also need to solve mock papers, focus on their weak areas and also need to learn effective time management.

AIIMS MBBS 2019 is a national-level entrance exam and approximately 3 lakh candidates appear each year for the AIIMS MBBS exam. AIIMS MBBS is a computer-based exam which will be conducted on May 25 and 26 in four different slots. The question paper will have 200 multiple choice questions from subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Aptitude and Logical Thinking and General Knowledge.

Candidates also need to remember that the entire science section which includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology has equal weightage so equal attention should be given to every section during the exam preparation. Listed below are subject-wise preparation tips to help candidates with the AIIMS MBBS 2019 preparation.

Preparation Tips for AIIMS MBBS 2019-Chemistry

Chemistry includes problems, chemical equations, and concepts so it is advisable for the students to highlight some of the important points while preparing for the exam. This will be very useful while revising. 

Preparation Tips for AIIMS MBBS 2019-Biology

To prepare well for Biology, it is important to focus mainly on diagrams and concepts. Most of the questions will be from NCERT so it is important to prepare thoroughly from the NCERT and then refer to other books.

Preparation Tips for AIIMS MBBS 2019-Physics

The physics section will have many practical problems to solve so it is important to brush up on the basics. To get a good grasp on the basics, refer to the NCERT textbooks or other books from HC Verma and Aggarwal. It is also important to solve questions regularly to understand the concepts well. Some calculation based questions are also asked in this section and candidates will need to apply mathematical techniques to solve those questions. For those who are from a non-math background at 10+2, it is important to revise important formulae studied in high school standard math such as surface area and volume, etc.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates are advised to reach the examination center on time and not wait until the last minute. There are several mandatory pre-examination activities such as biometric capture, photo capture, etc. that require time. In order to avoid delay in starting the examination, candidates must enter the examination center at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination.
  • Candidates should not bring a pen/pencil to the examination hall. The pen is provided by AIIMS at the examination center for completing examination formalities and rough work (if any) on the back side of Admit Card.
  • Candidates should not bring wristwatches, cell phones, pagers, calculators or any kind of electronic gadgets, Bluetooth devices etc. in the examination hall; all these items are strictly prohibited.
  • Any electronic item found with the candidate during the examination, even if switched off, will be considered as an attempt to use unfair means and appropriate action will be taken.
  • In addition to the above, ornaments, head gear, hair bands, hair clips, belt, bags, credit cards, debit cards, books are strictly prohibited at the examination center.  AIIMS will not be responsible for the safekeeping of such articles as there will be no arrangements at the exam center for safekeeping of these items.
  • No candidate should carry any text material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except a copy of admit card inside the examination hall.
  • If a candidate is found to be copying/conversing with other candidates, he/she will be disqualified from taking that examination and the next one or two such examinations according to the nature of the offense.
  • Any attempt to note down questions during the examination will be viewed very seriously, and invite criminal proceedings.
  • Candidates must leave examination hall only after handing over the copy of Admit Card to the Invigilator.
  • Change, if any, in the address, Mobile Number, E-mail ID should be promptly reported to the Asstt. Controller (Examinations), AIIMS, New Delhi.
