CAT 2022 exam is most likely to be conducted on November 27 in 3 slots for 2 hours. IIM Bangalore is expected to conduct CAT 2022 in 156 cities in three slots. CAT registration 2022 will commence in the first week of August till the third week of September. The registration fee for General applicants is INR 2200 and INR 1100 for the unreserved category. A candidate who has completed graduation in any stream with a minimum of 50% scores (45% for the reserved category) is eligible to appear for the CAT exam 2022. The purpose of CAT is admission to the flagship PGP courses offered by the 20 IIMs in India. The exam structure of CAT 2022 might witness some changes, details of which will be notified on the official website.

CAT registration 2022 correction window will open after the registration ends. Candidates can edit their photographs, exam city preferences, and signatures through the application correction window. CAT registration is the first step toward MBA admissions in IIMs, IITs other Top institutes.  Post that, the admit card for the exam will be released. CAT exam pattern 2022 will comprise 66 questions from logical and analytical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness. 

The conducting body of the CAT 2022 exam will declare the result in early January 2023, tentatively between January 2-5. CAT 2022 Official Notification

CAT 2022 official notification is expected to be released in the last week of July. In 2021, IIM Ahmedabad, the conducting body of CAT 2021 released the notification on July 31. The Notification of CAT consists of all important information related to exam dates, application forms, registration fees, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, number of test centers, reservation criteria, and syllabus. What Changes Can be Expected in CAT Notification 2022?

The conducting body of CAT 2021, IIM Ahmedabad, introduced several changes in the examination pattern. In CAT 2022, the conducting body is most likely to make changes in the question paper pattern. Following are the changes expected in the CAT notification 2022.

  • The total number of questions is again likely to decrease from 66. Earlier, it was reduced from 76 to 66.
  • The penalty for Non-MCQs type TITA questions without negative marking is likely to increase.
  • The conducting body of CAT 2022 might bring some more changes in the exam structure to improve gender diversity and academics in the IIMs.

CAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

To fill out CAT Application forms, applicants must meet several eligibility requirements established by the exam's administrators. Look at the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria prescribed below. 

  • Graduation: An undergraduate degree or similar in any relevant subject is required to apply for the CAT exam.
  • Minimum Marks: Applicants must have a college grade point average of approximately 50%. The minimum cumulative grades for SC/ST candidates are 45 percent. 
  • Age: There is no maximum age for appearing in CAT 2022.
  • Final year participants: The last year students can prepare for the exam but will only get admission if they reach the basic mark eligibility requirements of 50 percent (40 percent for SC/ ST/ PwD) after graduating from college. CAT Registration 2022

Each year, approximately 2 lakh applicants enroll for CAT. The CAT registration process plays an essential role in getting admission to the MBA programmes at IIMs, IITs, and other top universities. The IIMs will soon declare the CAT 2022 enrollment date on their official site. The registration process for CAT 2022  will be online, with online forms accessible at the official web portal (iimcat.ac.in.) From the first week of August to the second week of September 2022, the CAT 2022 registration window will be accessible for 5-6 weeks.

Steps for CAT Registration Process 2022

Applicants must register using a username and password on the official website-iimcat.ac.in for the CAT exam by completing the instructions outlined below:

  • Click on the 'New Candidate Registration' tab.

CAT 2022 Admission Process

IIMs have their individual selection process, and the admission process of IIMs usually includes the score obtained in CAT 2022 exam, academic record, and performance in PI & WAT rounds. There are three general stages through which the IIMs admission process gets conducted through CAT. 

  • Stage 1: CAT Exam Performance
  • Stage 2: Shortlisting by IIMs for Personal Interview round
  • Stage 3: IIMs Final Selection Process 2022 comprising WAT & PI Round

The final selection depends on the collective performance in all the stages. Students must note that old IIMs conduct separate admission processes while the baby or new IIMs conduct a Common Admission Process for MBA admission after the CAT exam.

IIM Admission Criteria for 2022-2024: IIMs Selection Criteria

    CAT 2022 Admit Card

    The conducting IIM will release the CAT 2022 admit card in the last week of October 2022. You can download the same from the official website. The CAT admit card 2022 will include the exam centre location, exam timing, reporting time, a link to a Google Map to help you find the test centre, and examination day guidelines. On the day of the CAT 2022 test, applicants must bring a printout of their admit card and an identity card to the examination centre.

    Steps to Download CAT Admit Card 2022

    Exam takers can find the steps to download the CAT admit card prescribed below.

    • Visit the CAT's official site (iimcat.ac.in.)
    • To username and password, enter your CAT.
    • Press the 'Download CAT 2022 Admit Card' button.
    • The screen will show your admit card. Take a print of the document after downloading it.
    • Keep a photocopy of your hall ticket for future use.

    CAT 2022 Answer Key

    CAT final answer key 2022 will be released along with the result in early January. To access CAT answer key 2022, candidates will need to login into the CAT official website and enter their CAT 2022 Login ID and password.

    • The answer key for the CAT exam will only be available for the aspirants who took CAT 2022. 
    • The CAT exam answer key PDF is released along with an objection form. The aspirants who are not happy with the CAT answer key get the option to challenge the answer key by submitting an objection to the CAT 2022 centre. They also need to pay 1200.
    • If the objection found by the candidate is valid, the measures taken by IIMs will apply to all the candidates.
    • If there is no change even after the candidate has objected, it will not be considered.
    • CAT answer key helps the candidates verify their answers and figure out their CAT 2022 expected score for MBA admission to IIMs and other top B-schools.

    CAT 2022 Result

    CAT 2022 scorecard is likely to be out in the first week of January 2023. CAT result 2022 will also be available to download on the official website (iimcat.ac.in) on the same date.

    How many times is CAT conducted in a year?
