Central Universities Common Entrance Test, commonly known as CUCET, is a combined national-level entrance exam. CUCET is conducted for the aspirants willing to pursue Undergraduate, Post graduate, and Doctorate courses offered by the central universities of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Kashmir, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Jammu, South Bihar, Karnataka and Kerala.

CUCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

CUCET 2018 eligibility criteria specifies the eligibility norms that must be fulfilled by the applicants to be eligible to apply for the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria mentions the age limit, educational criteria, and the qualifying marks that an applicant must score to appear in CUCET 2018. Applicants must note that CUCET 2018 eligibility criteria varies university-wise. Therefore, before applying for the exam, candidates can check the university-wise eligibility criteria.

Course-Wise CUCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

For Undergraduate Courses

  • General category applicants should score at least 50% marks in class 12.

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe applicants should have a minimum of 45% marks in class 12.

  • In class 12, applicants should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology depending upon the course applying for.

For Post Graduate Courses

  • General category applicants should score 55% marks in their Graduation from a recognised university.

  • SC/ST/OBC/PWD category applicants should have 50% marks in their Graduation from a recognised university.

For Ph.D Courses

  • Applicants should have a Master’s degree in any stream with minimum of 55% marks for General category applicants, 50% marks for OBC category applicants and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD category applicants.

  • If an applicant has cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM or qualified in any other National level Exam, then he/she is exempted from appearing in the entrance exam.

CUCET 2018 Exam Pattern

Candidates appearing for CUCET 2018 must know the exam pattern of CUCET 2018 well in advance. As per the exam pattern of CUCET 2018, the entrance exam consists of two parts- Part A and Part B. Part A comprises of 25 questions whereas Part B comprises of 75 questions. The exam pattern of CUCET 2018 also specifies the weightage of marks, duration of the exam, question paper type, exam language and overall format of the entrance exam.

The detailed CUCET 2018 exam pattern is mentioned below:

  • CUCET 2018 is conducted in offline (Pen-Paper based) mode.

  • The question paper of CUCET 2018 is divided into Part A and Part B.

  • The total exam duration is 2 hours.

  • The question paper of CUCET 2018 consists of multiple type of questions.

  • A total of 100 questions are asked in the entrance exam.

  • Part-A of the entrance exam consists of 25 MCQs in total on the following subjects: English Language, Mathematical Aptitude, General Awareness and Analytical Skills.

  • Part-B of the entrance exam consists of 75 MCQs in total that tests candidate’s Domain Knowledge/Subject specific knowledge.

  • For Integrated courses/B.Voc./MBA/MCA/LLB or any other general course(s), there is one paper that comprises of 100 MCQs having questions from various subjects like English Language, Data Interpretations/ Numerical Ability, Reasoning, General Awareness and Analytical Skills.

  • For every correct answer, 3 marks are awarded to the candidates.

  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted in CUCET 2018.

CUCET 2018 Result Announced

CUCET 2018 Result has been released on 25th May, 2018 by the conducting authority. The result of CUCET 2018 is prepared on the basis of the scores obtained by candidates in the entrance exam. Appeared candidates can view their CUCET result 2018 by entering their login details such as Roll Number and Date of Birth.

The scorecard of CUCET 2018 comprises of the marks scored by the candidates in the entrance exam. CUCET 2018 Cut-off

After result declaration, the CUCET 2018 cut-off is declared by every central university. The CUCET 2018 cut-off is based on the minimum qualifying marks in the entrance exam. CUCET 2018 Counselling Process

The CUCET 2018 Counselling Process begins once the result of CUCET 2018 is declared. The counselling of CUCET is conducted in online mode for the qualified candidates. To participate in the CUCET 2018 counselling, qualified candidates have to apply for online counselling as per his/her CUCET 2018 merit and cut-off marks for a particular course or programme. 

As per the latest information on the official website of CUCET 2018, the CUCET 2018 Counselling Process for Central University of Rajasthan and Haryana has already begun. Only those who qualified CUCET are eligible to attend the counselling procedure, which comprises payment of admission fee and document verification.

Detailed CUCET Counselling Process 2018

  • After the announcement of CUCET results, the participating universities release their individual rank list.
  • Whenever a participating university brings out a notification, the candidates must register for the CUCET counselling process accordingly through the respective university’s website.
  • While registering, candidates have to submit the CUCET 2018 counselling form, including details such as the desired course.
  • Before submitting the counselling form, one has to enclose the scanned copies of all the documents.
  • The next thing to do is to save registration confirmation in a PDF format and take a print out for future use.
  • CUCET does not have a single centralised counselling process. All the participating universities offer admission to qualified candidates on the basis of their individual counselling sessions.
  • It is mandatory for a candidate to meet the cut-off for the University where he/she has to participate in the counselling procedure.
  • Seats are allotted to candidates in order of merit in their respective programme and university/ institute through online/offline counselling. 
  • The candidate who is allotted a seat at a particular University has to then pay the admission fee and undergo document verification.
  • There will be a separate fee for online counselling.

Note: Candidates have to fill the counselling form available on the official website of every central university. Depending on the remaining vacant seats for a particular course, allotment of seats is done through counselling.

How to Apply for CUCET 2018

To apply for CUCET 2018, applicants have to fill the CUCET 2018 application form in online mode by visiting the official website. The CUCET 2018 application form was available from 16th March, 2018 and the last date to apply for CUCET 2018 was 15th April, 2018. While registering for CUCET 2018, applicants have to fill separate application forms if they are applying for more than one course. As part of the CUCET 2018 application process, applicants are required to pay the application fee of CUCET 2018 in online (Credit/Debit card or Net Banking) or offline (payment at State Bank of India) mode.

Note: CUCET 2018 application fee depends on the course an applicant is applying for and the mode of payment.

Step 1: CUCET 2018 Registration

  • To fill the CUCET application form, applicants have to first register themselves.

  • To register, applicants have to choose the course for which they are applying.

  • To continue further, applicants have to fill their Name, Date of Birth, E-mail ID, Mobile Number and Verification Code.

  • After entering the details, a unique user Application ID is generated.

Step 2: Filling the CUCET 2018 Application Form

After getting the Application ID, applicants have to fill the following details:

CUCET 2018 Answer Key

The Central University of Rajasthan has released the CUCET 2018 answer key. The university released provisional answer key in April 2018, which was revised and the final answer key was published in May. Candidates can check the answer key on the official website of Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET).

The answer key is released after the completion of the examination. It is a parameter to help candidates check how they performed in the examination.
