NIFT 2021 Counselling Process

NIFT Counselling will be organised in multiple rounds for various Campuses of NIFT.The counselling for NIFT 2021 will be held in an online mode and all the shortlisted applicants must carry a soft copy of the valid documents such as Proof of Date of Birth, Qualification (s), category certificate etc. to the venue. The entire admission process is coordinated by NIFT Head Office and is held after the declaration of the final NIFT Result 2021.

NIFT UG and PG Design Courses Fee Structure 2021

Those who have qualified the NIFT Entrance Exam 2021 must register for the counselling round as per the specified dates. It is mandatory for the candidates to take part in the NIFT counselling process if they want to secure a seat in one of the NIFT campuses. The NIFT 2021 counselling will be conducted on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the entrance exam and category. The availability of seats will also play an important role during the conduct of the NIFT 2021 counselling procedure. 

After the candidates are allocated seats they will be required to submit the entire fee at the NIFT campus, where they have been allocated seats, to confirm their admission. Post payment of fee, the nodal officer will issue a receipt or allotment letter which must be definitely collected by the candidates as proof of their act of fee submission. Once the candidates accept the seats allocated in a particular round, they cannot take part in the next round of the seat allotment procedure. Detailed Process of NIFT Counselling 2021

Provided below is the detailed NIFT Counselling Process 2021 for the interested candidates.

Step 1: Register Yourself

  1. Eligible candidates will have to fill an online counselling registration form on the official website of the institute.

  2. The candidate will have to pay online Rs. 5,000/- as a fee to register for participation. 

  3. For registration, candidates may use their credentials like Form Number, Date of Birth and Password (same as Application Form)

  4. On successful registration, candidates will receive a system-generated letter containing detail of the nodal officer and documents required at the time of counselling.

Step 2: Upload Documents

  1. Log in again on the official website using the date of birth, application form number and password. Upload all the required documents. They are considered for document verification and seat allocation. Applicants must note that the file size should not exceed more than 1 MB and the file format must be PDF/JPG/JPEG.

  2. After verification of the documents is successfully done, applicants will receive a Zoom Meeting Link displaying the date of counselling and important instructions. 

Step 3: Appear for Counselling

  1. Candidates have to click on the link and appear for counselling on the allotted date.

  2. A seating chart will be shared with the applicants as per his/her choice. Aspirants have to confirm their final choice and the seats will be allocated to them as per his/her request. The final decision will be forwarded to the NIFT HO for approval.

Step 4: Seat Allotment 

  1. After allotment of seats, the candidate will be issued an allotment letter duly signed by the Nodal Officer of the Campus.

  2. Candidates are advised to check the details as printed in the Admission Fee Receipt.

  3. The presence of the candidate at the time of counselling is mandatory.

  4. All candidates will be called for counselling as per their Common Merit Rank and admission will be strictly on merit. 

  5. The status of vacant seats will be updated on the NIFT website every day. All candidates are recommended to check the NIFT website regularly and plan their counselling accordingly.

  1. 2 passport size and 4 stamp size photographs

  2. Class 10th certificate from the Board from which the candidate has cleared the High School or Secondary Examination (for Date of Birth)

  1. 2 passport size and 4 stamp size photographs

  2. Class 10th certificate from the Board from which the candidate has cleared the High School or Secondary Examination (for Date of Birth)

  3. Self-attested copy of the Certificate and Marksheet of having cleared any of the following class 12th or equivalent examination with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for B.FTech course at NIFT:

  • +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

or

  •  A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with atleast five subjects with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

or

  • 3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by a State Board of Technical Education or AICTE.

or

  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

or

Persons with Disability (PwD)

Candidates with more than 40% disability will have 5% seats reserved for them (irrespective of the category they belong) in all the NIFT campuses

State Domicile

  • A certain number of seats will be reserved in some of the NIFT campuses for students belonging to the same state 

  • A total of 7 seats in campuses of NIFT like Kangra, Patna, Bhopal, Kannur, Bhubaneshwar, Shillong and Jodhpur will be reserved for candidates belonging to the states where the campuses are situated

  • NIFT Srinagar has 13 seats reserved for candidates belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir

Cancellation of Admission in NIFT 2021 

Qualifying the NIFT Entrance Exam does not guarantee admission to the institute. Interested candidates an also encounter cancellation mid-way. Provided here are key pointers explaining the situations in which an individual can face cancellation.

  • If the organising or exam authorities do not like past behaviour, character or antecedents of an aspirant, he/she can face admission cancellation.

  • If a candidate is found applying for NIFT through incorrect information or hiding relevant facts, the Director of the Campus has the authority to cancel the admission of the applicant at any stage or point in time.

  • If an applicant gets admission due to oversight or any mistake, it can be cancelled without any prior notice and at any time of the course of study.

  • If an individual is found ineligible for the NIFT admissions, it can be cancelled during, before or after the admission process.

  • A candidate is required to report to the allotted NIFT Campus within 7 days of the admission. If he/she fails in doing so, then the admission of the candidate will be cancelled without any intimation.

  • The Director-General has the power to debar any student for a certain period or cancel his/her admission for any specific reason.

NIFT 2021 Counselling Process: Refund and Withdrawal

There are certain conditions in which a candidate will receive a refund of the submitted fee. It should be noted that the refund requests need to be submitted online only. No offline requires or e-mail requests will be entertained.

Applicants will have to apply on the online portal or else the refund will not be initiated. If an individual does not take the admission/ seat after registration, they will receive the full refund (including the Registration fee).
