The Pearl Academy selection process is based on the written exam and the personal interview round. Candidates must note that their selection will depend on the merit list and performance in the personal interview round. The selection process for different levels and specialisations will vary, so students must be aware of the entire process beforehand to not be confused.  

The selection process for the Pearl Academy entrance exam is based on the written test which includes the General Proficiency Test (GPT), the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), the Media Aptitude Test (MAT) and a personal interview round.  Check out more detailed selection criteria below on this page.

All About Pearl Academy Entrance Exam 2024 Selection Process

To be aware of the detailed information on the PAF 2024 selection process check out the below pointers: 

• Getting admitted to any UG and PG courses offered by Pearl Academy is based on merit in the written admission test (GPT/DAT/MAT) and Portfolio Evaluation/Personal Interview round. 
• Candidates will be allocated the program and the centre choice as per their rank and preference.
• A professional certificate course of 11 months selection will be done based on performance in the personal interview. 
• For each admission cycle, a different result sheet with cut-off/grades and weights will be released by the Admission/Selection Committee. 
• The admission letter can be found online with the necessary information along with the fee structure of the desired course. 
• To freeze the seats, students have to submit the required fees within the stipulated deadline. If the candidate fails to pay the fee within the last date, the seat will be offered to the next deserving candidate.
• If candidates are not selected in any of the Pearl Academy admission cycles, they can appear for the next admission cycle.

Waiver of General Proficiency Test (GPT) and Design Aptitude Test (DAT)

For UG Program Applicants

• NATA scorecard 2021/2023 shall be considered.
• It is applicable only for a 4-Year undergraduate course in Interior Design and Product Design 

Note: Candidates must enclose a copy of the NATA scorecard 2021/2023 (whichever is applicable) along with the duly filled application form.

For PG Program Applicants

Aspirants of any of the PG courses are entitled to waiver of the General Proficiency Test (GPT) only if they have obtained the scores given below. Such applicants will be invited for a Personal Interview directly subject to the submission of valid scores.

• CAT (2021/2023)
• AIMA – MAT (2021/2023)
• GMAT 

The minimum scores of CAT/MAT/GMAT for a waiver of the General Proficiency Test (GPT) required are mentioned below:

• Minimum CAT score of 60 percentile or above
• Minimum MAT score of 500 or above
• A minimum GMAT score of 450 or above

To avail the same, candidates must submit an attested copy of the scorecard along with the application form. In case the candidate does not have a valid scorecard, the waiver shall not be offered. Design stream/Media & Communication (Journalism & Entertainment) aspirants, who are allowed waiver of GPT must have to take the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) and Media Aptitude Test respectively. The decision to grant a waiver rests with the administration of Pearl Academy. 

Pearl Academy Entrance Exam 2024 Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for different types of courses vary, so candidates are advised to have a detailed look at the below-mentioned details:  

• All UG and PG level Courses: For admission in all UG and PG level courses candidates' performance in the written entrance test and personal interview round are evaluated. Shortlisted candidates through the written test (GPT/DAT/MAT) can appear for the personal interview round. 
• 11-Month-Long PG Advance Diploma Design (Fashion & Textiles): Admission to this advance diploma programme is based on the written admission test (GPT/DAT/MAT) and the Portfolio Evaluation/Personal Interview round. Candidates will be judged based on both rounds. 
• 11-Month-Long Professional Certificate Program: This certificate program requires candidates to appear for a personal interview round. The selection for this course is solely on personal interviews.
